About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
I’m gonna guess that was a VEC CJ-2A body. It’s rough.
“1956 Willy’s Jeep. Has all the parts on it, except the steering wheel. Would be a great project, motor needs to be gone through. Bought it for $3,000 for my son, he went with a truck instead now I need it gone. Willing to take a lose on it, $2,000 is a great deal.”
“I have two 1946 willys jeeps i would like to sell. One jeep runs the other doesn’t my original plans were to restore the one that runs with parts from the other. They are both 1946 cj2a willys jeeps one runs and has a bad body and the other one does not run and has a decent body. i want $1800 im not dead firm on my price but i do know what their worth”
The seller claims the only body mod is the hood scoop, but the drain hole has been filled and the bow holders removed. I’m only being picky, because the seller wants a lot for it. This does have the square bow holder windshield brackets, three data plates, and the full floating rears. This must have been a really early VEC. It only has 1 hood latch.
“THIS MOSTLY ORIGINAL JEEP FEATURES AN UPGRADED, LATER MODEL JEEP 4 CYLINDER OHV ENGINE IN PLACE OF ITS ORIGINAL “GO DEVIL” FLAT 4. THE MORE POWERFUL ENGINE CAME WITH AN IMPROVED CARBURETOR ( REQUIRING A HOOD SCOOP-ITS ONLY BODY MOD). THE RED EXTERIOR BODY IS ALL ORIGINAL. THE INTERIOR HAS THE ORIGINAL BUCKET SEATS COVERED IN BAMBOO VINYL. ALL THE GUAGES ARE INSTALLED AND WORKING PROPERLY,AS WELL AS ALL LIGHTS WORK. HAS AN OPTIONAL FACTORY HEATER INSTALLED. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAS BEEN UPGRADED FROM 6V TO 12V. THE STEEL WHEELS ARE AFTERMARKET AND WEAR 245X15 OFF-ROAD TRACTION TIRES WITH DECENT TREAD. HAVE THE ORIGINAL 16 INCH WHEELS AND TIRES WHICH WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE SALE.THIS RARE JEEP RUNS,DRIVES,SHIFTS AND STOPS LIKE IT SHOULD. HAS A BIMINI TOP TO KEEP THE SUN AT BAY. THIS JEEP IS A BLAST TO DRIVE,EASY OF FUEL,GETS LOTS OF LOOKS AND ITS READY TO GO! VERY DEPENDABLE-STARTS RIGHT UP,AND WOULD MAKE A GREAT DAILY DRIVER. I HAVE 2 OF THESE JEEPS…THIS RED 1946 AND A MINT GREEN 1949 MODEL(PICTURES BELOW). GREEN JEEP HAS ORIGINAL WINCH AND TOW BAR.”
This is a nice looking VEC. It no longer has the column shift.

It doesn’t include the winch, but the winch is the focus of the picture . . .
“I have a 1947 flatfender “original” Willy’s Jeep, except of course for the engine it’s a 64′ 4 cylinder engine. The winch nor the white top doesn’t come with the Jeep. Looking to sell or trade, if it’s a vehicle you’re offering it’s would have to be made 50-state legal before it changes owners. I’m open to as old as 1992 with cash on your end, 2000 year model would be a fair trade. less then 150K miles. Please include picture of offer so I know you’re serious…”
“I have three jeeps. One does run and I have been driving it around my property. It has the flathead, rebuilt carb, new fuel pump, it runs good and does not burn oil. The transmission works great and does not jump out of 2nd or 3rd. The t-case works fine. It needs body work and frame has some cracks and has been welded on. One of the other jeeps has the flathead and complete drivetrain. Engine turns over but I have not started it. The third jeep has no engine but is good for parts. I have one clear colorado title for one jeep.”
