About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

This looks like a great find by Jim. The serial number is 17614. It runs …
“A very rare restoration project. I pulled this CJ-2A out of a barn in Crawford Colorado. It is a very rare original VEC agri jeep, 1946 early serial number, was originally three on the tree, has tool indents, 3 piece agri dash plate, early wire steering wheel, 6 volt, original wheels, original seats, original everything, very little rust, runs, motor is super quiet. Has been in storage, will need brakes, tune up etc The serial number is 17614. Please dont tow this extremey old rig at 70 mph, bring a trailer.”
(03/01/2010) Here’s a modded VEC that looks in very good condition.
“This 46 Willys has been completely gone through. It has always been garaged and is extremely clean. It has a Buick V-6 that runs strong – Turbo 350 transmission – Detroit Locker 44 in rear, 27 in front – brand new Toyo 33″ mud terrains – 2 in. lift with spring over – power steering – Ramsey 8,000 lb. winch – 1 year old paint job with no nicks or scratches – custom built roll cage with built-in speakers – CD player – Corbeau race seats and lap belts – GT steering wheel with telescoping and tilt column – tacometer – newer gauges – BNM floor shifter – bikini top – lots of chromed parts and much more! Must see to appreciate – serious inquiries only – no trades.”
This looks more like a CJ-3A to me. It’s clearly a paint job from another era … I love it! I’m wondering if this has the hudston steering. It has hydraulic clutch/brake and probably swing pedals.
“1946 Willy Jeep. I believe it is the CJ – 2A model. This is a perfect starting spot for a full restore / rebuild. Pretty much everything is there other than the original engine which was only there for a little while because my Grandfather swapped it for a 283 Corvette Engine. Fenders, hood, grille, rims, tires, spare, 4 wheel transmission, axles, unknown transmission (hooked up with 283), steering column, steering wheel, shift linkage, all seats, gas tank, lights, wiring, ignition with key, fold down windshield, more random parts, etc. Please note, these pictures were taken a while ago and the tachometers are no longer with the car, everything else is the exact same.”
“35″ tires in great shape, 327 Chevy from a 69 Impala, racing seats with 5 point harnesses, and a New besttop top included. Body is in OK shape, some dents, some minor rust. Needs minor repairs you can do while you drive it like a front end alignment, misc wiring repair, and a brake upgrade. Asking $4700. Possible partial trades for atv, log splitter, or ? Would also trade for 4 door pickup or suv 98 or newer.”
“This is a Strong Running 1948 Willys Jeep in Good solid shape with a strong front winch and plow. Great to just hope in and go or as a project to fix up nicely with out to much money or hassle. This Vehicle is a collectors item as there are few left in this kind of structural shape, this Jeep is so Old that it does not even meet the requirements to drive on the major freeways anymore as the top speed is only around 50-55 miles and hour. Email me with any questions, Thanks, Mark”
(05/02/2010) The windshield has been modified and the glass is missing.

It appears very stock, but that CJ-2A body is pretty rusted on the sides.
“This jeep is as original and complete as I have seen. Rare items still on this jeep are the canvas top and bows, keyed coil, Naco taillight, and oil bath air cleaner to name a few. Serial number on title matches the firewall plate. ACM number on toeboard and tailgate match. The body tub needs some metal repair, and entire drivetrain will need to be evaluated. The motor turns by hand, but I have not tried to start it. If you are looking for a mudding jeep, keep looking-this one is not for you. Serious inquirers respond with email address and I will contact you regarding a personal inspection. ”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $3000 (was $5000 2 years ago)
This one hasn’t been re-listed in over 2 years. The pics show the jeep has been been painted with a rough body paint of some kind (herculiner maybe). This jeep still has no engine or transfercase.
