Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “For Sale: 1945 CJ2A VEC; (“very early civilian” low sequence numbered chassis). Clear Texas Blue Title. Title matches the VIN tab on the firewall, which is also OEM, very clean, and legible.
No L134 flathead motor installed, L-head motor goes with the jeep, it is a complete motor, but it will need rebuild. Intake, exhaust, carb and alternator are still in the engine bay; all the components in the jeep go with the jeep.
T-90 Transmission has pristine internals, looks rebuilt, all four gears are pristine. T-3 transfer case and all linkage and brakes are complete and look very clean on the inside. Chassis is rolling on OEM 16 inch rims. Continue reading

“I have a 1947 CJ2A for sale. Got it in pieces. Its assembled now. Runs and drives. 4 wheel. High amd low range would excellently. Has a crank winch on the front. Selling so i can start another project.
It runs a bit warm. Havent determined the cause and it needs the master cylinder worked on or replaced. Only has engine wiring. Head and tail lights are not wired up but easy”

(02/20/2017) “1947. Over 200 pics from restoration. Not in a hurry to sell. Please don’t ask if I need help selling it. Great shape.”
Looks solid.
“She is the first of the CJ2A Jeeps. She still has the original engine and drive train. She still starts up and runs well. The only major modification is from a 6 volt system to a 12 volt system. Also the original oil bath air cleaning system has been replaced with a filter.
The body does have some rust that has been replaced with bonds.”

(02/05/2017) Needs some work.
“1947 Jeep Willys CJ2 A. Has the “Go Devil” 4cyl. engine also know as the L-head.
With in the last year:
-New fuel tank, has a
– High rev 12v starter,
– Rebuilt carb ( still leaks as the of the age recommend replacement),
– All new wiring, with new battery and alternator,
– Brakes rebuild except the master which was good at the time.
A few years ago the engine was rebuilt runs strong.
Body is not perfect (started to remove paint as it had a bad brush paint job before), floor supports are rusted out . Over all good bones for a restore. Or good ranch rig.
Comes with aftermarket rims and tires. also comes with set of 6 15inch rims with bad tires on them. can also negotiate for a set of 6 16inch rims
As of now it needs the seats redone, and a new carb.
I have some different tires if interested.“
