Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This jeep is as original as I could keep it with required repairs and safety upgrades. It has the 134L Go-Devel engine and three speed gearbox/two lever transfer case and is set up to shift into low range while in 2WD if desired.
All lights except headlights are LED so it is not original, several other items
were also added/changed, such as power brake/vacuum assist hydrovat added,
rear fenders/flairs to keep from getting mud & rocks flung up the back of my
arm, custom gas tank (alum). seats came out of a 69 Ford van and were recently
repaired and recovered. No heater. manual wipers, windshield glass is from heavy
equipment stock cut to fit. Continue reading

Has some rust. Doesn’t run.
“1946 Willys CJ-2a Jeep with 4 cylinder flathead engine. The engine appears to have been rebuilt or replaced. I have not been able to get it started as the starter will not engage. This would make a great Jeep for driving on the beach at Pismo because it’s rusted already. The tub is pretty rusty but the engine and chassis seem to be in good shape and the seat frames need upholstery. I do not have a windshield. When I bought the Jeep I was told it was running when it was parked some odd years ago. I have a clean title in my name and it’s registered on non-op as of July 2016.”
