Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (07/11/2010) “Well-modified vintage ’47 Willys Jeep CJ2A – popular engine conversion and upgraded brakes : running 3.8-Liter Buick V6 231 with new Chevy disc brakes up front all new parts for the original 9 inch drums. Improved handling courtesy of Saginaw manual steering inluding a tilt GM style column from a CJ7. Spring over lift using original springs with new Skyjacker Shocks and Ubolts. Fenders and hood have been removed for convience. T90 transmission rebuilt for the engine conversion — mostly new internal parts just needs installed along with your choice of clutch activation. Many new or refurbished parts. CLEAR TITLE (not common for a 1947 jeep). This is the old flatfender jeep everybody wants!.
Why such a bargain price? A few parts are needed and some just need to be put back on.
Extras (negotiable):
– second Buick V6 (disassembled)
– 2 soft tops and doors (plus another set of white soft doors)
– additional transmissions and transfer cases.
– 2 T90 advanced adapters
– GM bell housing adapters and a Novak Ford adapter
– T 14 or 15 transmission

“1946 Willys Jeep with original flat head engine. All original tub, fenders, hood, and windshield. All original instrument panel. This vehicle runs and drives. Significant tune up including cap, rotor, plugs and wires recently replaced. Gas tank re-lined. Brake shoes and master cylinders replaced. Passenger side windshield is cracked. Body is in very good shape. This car is parked in Southern Maine (Old Orchard Beach). Only seriously interested calls please to set up an appointment.”

Looks like the column shift has been switched out. Looks solid otherwise.
“Very clean 1946 Willys CJ2A. All original except an important upgrade to a dual reservoir master cylinder (for safety purposes). Excellent working condition, I have done all the work on it over the past 3 years… fairly extensive restoration and has been painted in its original colors; Pasture Green with Autumn Yellow wheels. Paint is not perfect 8/10. Body is rot free thought there are certain areas where rust was once a problem. No shakes or wobbles at speeds in excess of 60+ MPH. Flathead 4 cylinder is reliable, leak free and powerful. I use it the way it was intended to be used when it was built in 1946, it’s a work vehicle but it is maintained properly. No mechanical issues: holds good oil pressure, no overheating, 4wd works, etc.”

Jeep has a ford 302 v8 motor 3 speed transmission with spicer transfer case its sitting on 31×10.50×15 that are almost new has a stereo with two 6x9s and a cobra cb. has swing away spare tire rack with two jerry cans. This jeep is very clean for its age and functions well im asking $6000 obo or trade for a newer toyota pickup or older hotrod or what do you got???? worst i can say is no thanks. clean title resgistered out of california pink in hand. “Hi I have a 1946 willys cj2a. It’s a minor project that I
don’t have any money to put into.
I have two engines for it. The original L134 flathead and a v6 ford fuel injected. It has a t89 tranny in it. 3speed on the floor with high low 2 and 4 wheel drive transfer. It has drivers and passenger seats along with a back bench seat over a tool box. It has a roll bar. Newer windshield.
All it needs is an engine dropped into it and steering.
It’s a solid project that just needs someone to give it some love and spend some money on it.
I’m open to trades being newer trucks, fun sports cars or classic 4x4s. Toss me an offer or trade but please be reasonable. This is a great truck for almost 70. Interested in straight axle toyotas and other 4×4 rigs. Toss me an offer”

“Im selling my 47 willys jeep. Its runs and drives just don’t have place to store it like to see go to a good home. mechanicaly everything works fine. Engine is buick 225 v6 fresh rebuild in 2002 from top to bottom. All brakes have been replaced. Brand new period correct wiring harness from painless was replaced. All mechanical seals and fluids were replaced. Has power steering installed makes it a lot easier steering but do have all original steering column and parts. I have gone many places in this jeep it is a lot of fun to drive. Im asking 3500 obo no reasonable offer refused.”
