This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1953 Willys Jeep CJ-3B, all original, flat-fender, first year of the “Hurricane Four” 4 cyl F-head motor. Original 6-volt electrical system, original oil-bath air cleaner, original vacuum motor windshield wiper. It has spent its whole life in the Oregon High Desert east of the mountains, so there is no significant rust, and was driven only locally for the last 50 yrs, so it has not been “put through the wringer.” Was driven occasionally and parked in back of the house for many years, and has been in a garage for the last several. It could probably be driven away, but has rarely been run for the last 15 years or so. Probably has gas varnished up in the fuel system, and should have a hi-detergent oil run a short while before an oil change, etc. It should probably be taken to its new home via a trailer for face-lift and/or restoration. “1961 Willys Jeep CJ3B PROJECT
Jeep was parked at a house that burned the front drivers corner was damaged, the paint, wiring , tire and top were all damaged.
The engine is an “F” Head 134 ci. 4 cylinder – I did a compression test and got 110 psi on all cylinders , I tried to start the engine and the engine has spark but the starter bendix failed, the bendix is available on ebay for about $12, the other problem is the flywheel gear teeth are chewed up ,the gear is flip -able but the engine or transmission needs to be removed to do it.

“This is a great deal for legendary Jeep that can climb a tree. This 1954 CJ3B has had the electric system changed from 6v to 12v with an alternator, recently rebuilt transmission. It does have a couple of rough spots, mainly on the hood. Also with the low gear ratio it’s top speed is around 40-45mph. Don’t let this sweetheart get past you.”

“needing this project gone soon to make room for next one that i wont finish, It has a fairly fresh jasper remanufactured 350 in it that i used in a previous truck i had. the original t-90 transmission has been rebuilt and is mounted to a rebuilt dana 20 transfer case with twin sticks. i also have the original dana 18 transfer case that has been rebuilt as well. i also have an sm420 that i might sell with it. I got 2 dana 30 wide track front axles and 1 amc wide trac rear axle housing. i have an adapter to run a turbo 350 automatic trans if you want. bunch of other parts and pieces to go along with it came check it out. I can also deliver it in the kansas city area for a small fee. lets make a deal.”

(09/04/2015) Has a couple updates, but looks like a solid jeep.
“1953 Willys CJ3B. Motor, transmission and transfer case have been gone thru. Has front and rear axles out of a 1971 CJ5 with 10″ shoes. Tires are almost new and have low miles on them. I have a hard top and doors to go with it. Needs some minor body work and the paint is showing some age. I am only selling to fund my M38. $5500, no trades. Text messages preferred, but I will call back if you leave a message.”

Seller calls the engine a flathead, but it’s an f-head.
“This jeep runs and drives good. It is equipped complete with Warn winch and soft top. This jeep still has the flat head 4cyl. engine and three speed transmission. It also has brand new Buckshot tires. Call for more info. ”
