About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1960 Jeep CJ-3B in restorable condition. I bought it a couple of months ago and don’t have time for this project. It was running 4 years ago, but the gas tank rusted out. It has been stored inside for 4 years. I bought a new battery, fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator. I hooked up the battery and spun the motor over, but haven’t had time to mess with it since. The 3B was the only Jeep made with the tall grill and hood. It has the Hurricane straight four cylinder.”
(12/08/2014) Might be worth a look given there are two jeeps, but both look rough.
“63 willys cj3b was running when parked two years ago. i just lost interest. f head 134 engine with three speed. brakes need master cylinder like they all do 4 wheel drive and transfer case all work. even has a heater but no top or doors. i put a one wire alterator on it and just drove it on trails. but i do have title. also a 63 cj5 parts jeep with a locked up transmission. i got the motor to run after i got it home but thats all. it has the same running gear and a p.t.o winch on it. also have a spare motor and manifolds that i got from a scrap metal man. ”
(10/05/2013) This has a few dings, but appears solid.
“1955 Willys Jeep with hard top and doors. Straight 4cy, 29,xxx miles, army tires and winch. $7,500 It is running and drivable pickup only Benton Harbor, MI”
“58 willys jeep 4 speed factory jeep transmission aluminum hard top no motor v-8 bellhousing for ford motor 2nd owner grandpa was first warren hubs strong sound drive train restored price range on e bay 5000.00 – 9500.00 clear title”
(08/23/2014) Looks like a solid 3B. Nice vintage hardtop.
“Runs well, engine in great condition, hard top. Parked in the barn.
Many photos: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/tivhecdzz684xx2/AADh6MGuOAYf1HBDFKZ7vVYVa I’ve owned this jeep for three years, purchased from a filmmaker/collector here locally who has several willys. I’m not sure how long he had it prior, but I got the distinct impression he’s committed to these vehicles. He has specific shops in Treadwell and Morris that he trusts to work on these (Morris is an hour away from here, which says something.)
I could not speak with certainty on the engine being original– I do know he had it machined and tuned just prior to my acquisition. The carb was also rebuilt.
The brakes seem to be in good condition. The top is in good condition minus a couple chips in the rim. All glass is in good condition (the side windows do not roll down). There is no handle on the passenger door.
The floor pans had been repaired in the past– plates added– they’re adequate but it could be prettier. There are a few rust holes. The toolbox is pretty rusty and has a few holes.
The frame looks good. It has most certainly been repainted– I couldn’t say what the original color was. New battery this spring. The wiring needs the turn signals and brake lights sorted out. Runs very well and strong. Front wheel 4WD locks move well without a tool.
I deregistered it last year as I was fundamentally using it on the farm (to move firewood, and rarely) and didn’t want to pay insurance. I have the papers for easy transfer.
Quite simply, this jeep has gotten little use since I got it– housed in the barn, battery changed, rewiring started, oil changed. I’d keep it if we didn’t need to cover some unexpected expenses.”
“I was rebuilding this and got a code violation in Arlington and had to stop. The body is rusted out but this is a really solid foundation for building a nice classic rig. Set up with Rancho springs and shackles, Saginaw steering, T98 four speed transmission with granny low, and bellhousing adapter/motor mounts for small block Chevy. I let my grandson pretend-drive and now the tranny won’t go into reverse, first, or second, so there is little value there. Has plastic gas tank and original gauges. Roll bar is fine. Front axle ring/pinion are broken but it rolls with hubs unlocked and driveshaft off, but needs rebuilding or replacing with a Dana 30. Has nice vintage aluminum wheels.
The real values here include:
– Rear axle is a shortened Ford 9 inch with Detroit Locker, Moser axles, and 11 inch drums. 3.73 ratio
– Ramsay PTO winch running off of Dana 18 transfer case
– Clean title with data plates on dash
Can be flat towed with included tow bar that I put on to get it out of Arlington.
I also have all other parts for a complete rebuild that I would include for the right price. Includes brand new body plus vintage body parts with Willys script; rebuilt Chevy 350 4-bolt main, aluminum heads, super torque cam; new Centerforce clutch; and aluminum top. ”
“1954 Jeep CJ-3b 4 wd
Not a museum piece but a very nice CJ3b.
Solid, absolutely undamaged, rust-free frame. Rust in the body has been removed and/or treated. Everything possible original that could be repaired and saved has been. I believe in retaining every bit of original content possible.
Original engine, runs great.
Extremely original content CJ3b with high degree of original, working, parts. Still has the original tailgate chains, gauges (working), rear view mirror, seat frames (new correct, cushions), all five original rims,
radiator, engine, trans, windshield (perfect), windshield latches, vacuum wiper motor (works), parking brake system (works), dash data plate, original, working, heater.
Many new bits, all wiring replaced, electrical converted to 12 volts with new alternator,
entire brake system replaced including lines. Entire fuel system replaced from gas tank to the carburetor. New carburetor, fuel pump, lines, and tank.
You don’t have to fight all the sixty year-old rusted fasteners. I have done that. Almost every fastener has been removed, rust treated or replaced, oiled, and reinstalled.
You don’t have to treat the rust, seal the tight areas with 3m 8115, or fill all the pinholes I have done that.
Of course there is still more to do if you like wrenching your own, it’s an old Jeep.
South Carolina title in my name. Cash only, no trades.”
“1953 Willy’s Jeep CJ-3B- Second owner of this Arizona Jeep, clean title, carbureted GM V6 runs great, 3spd trans, new gas tank, new gauges, rebuilt drum brakes, 4wd works, Warn hubs, bed liner interior tub, exempt from emissions, 33″ tires (should be replaced soon), shackle lift, LED taillights., roof rack, bumper storage box, modern jeep seats, needs seatbelts. Paint job about 5 years old. Very reliable and fun to drive. This would be a great hunting, camping, cabin jeep or a perfect restoration project. Parts for these Jeeps are cheap and readily available. Please call, text, or email Mike for more information. Delivery available if needed. $4,300 OBO no trades please.”
“1958 cj 3b for sale. Fuel injected 283 small block chevy, t-90 trans. 32×11.5 on 15’s BFG mud terrains in good condition. Corbeau seats, rci 4 point harnesses. Auto meter gauges. Custom bimini top. Optima yellow top battery. Deaver front and rear custom leaf springs. Runs great and registration is up to date with clean title in hand, too many projects going on right now and no time to spend on this one. I am looking for the room with three other jeep projects going on right now so I am flexible on the price, so shoot me an offer and come down and drive it. ”
