Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1953 cj3b tub on a 75 cj5 frame. No title bill of sale only. Main components are there needs motor put back in tranny is still in the Jeep. Has 3 link in the front. With fox air shocks. The Jeep is definitely an off-road toy. Just needs put back together mainly looking to sell but will trade depending on what you have. Make an offer.”

The seller suggests that the hubs are self-locking, but they appear to be standard power-lock hubs from Cutlas (Cutlas did offer some automatic hubs in the 1960s … see the Cutlas Manufacturing history).

“1953 Jeep cj3b It has a rusty tub but many features that make it worth restoring. Solid frame, hurricane engine that turns, good hood and front fenders, Self locking hubs, newer radiator, nice looking gauges, original gas tank and horn. The front bumper is bolted on (not welded) and the frame horns are nice. Sold with Bill of Sale. $2000. Worth much more as parts. Call or text 218-349-three zero six five.”

“For sale 1953cj3b body tub, in very good condition, does need floor pan patching but under structure not bad. windshield frame in fantastic condition. and tail gate dented but not rusty. “1954 Willy’s cj3b for sale. 134 f head four cylinder, twin stick transfer case, three speed manual tranny, tow bar and a roll bar if interested. Believe it’s fairly original except the front bumper and warn hubs. Floors are in very good shape as is inside the tool box. Been sitting a while but did get it to fire dumping gas down the carb. Needs some love but overall a good representation of a high hood Willy’s.”
