About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
UPDATE: a reader reports this is sold. Was for sale for $8k.
I’m gonna guess that this is a rare 1968 CJ-3B titled as a 1969, as I believe ’68 was the last production year.
“1969 willys Jeep. Professionally built 302 engine mileage in picture is actuall miles on the engine. 3 speed manual transmission. High and low range 4-wheel drive w/lock in hubs. Has been rebuilt as a project looking to sell so I can buy another one and rebuild it. You can email me for more pictures.”
This is a good looking CJ-3B. The seller provides a nicely detailed description. The drain holes have been filled in.
“Here is a very nice 1953 Willys CJ-3B that is roadworthy. I run errands in it frequently. I have the title in my name so no drama there. The Jeep is still mostly original with the Hurricane engine and T-90 transmission, both of which work great. The engine starts right up hot or cold, no smoke and is very smooth. I’ve had the Jeep for two years, and from what I’ve been told by the previous owner, the Jeep was totally refurbished 12 years ago. I have no reason to doubt that. The paint still has some shine but there are some surface rust spots. There is also rust on the drivers side support for the fender. Also some rust on a cross member under the tub near the rear wheel wells. Since I’m in the disclosing mode, the only gauges that are hooked up are the temperature gauge and the oil pressure gauge. The odometer works but the speedometer has a broken needle. The ampere meter and the gas gauge are not hooked up and will be good things for a “to do” list. The seats are not original and in pretty bad shape under the seat covers, but they look okay. The emergency brake cable needs to be replaced….”
There might be some value here. That’s an unusual hood on the GPW (likely fiberglass).
“I HAVE THREE JEEPS FOR PARTS. ONE IS A 1969 WITH THE DAUNTLESS V-6 AND ALL THE RUNNING GEAR. ONE IS A CJ-3B THAT HAS NO ENGINE BUT WAS SET UP FOR A CHEVY SMALL BLOCK. IT HAS LATER FRONT AND REAR END IN IT WITH 11 INCH BRAKES AND 4.27 GEARS. T-90 TRANSMISSION WITH THE ADAPTER FOR THE CHEVY. THE THIRD ONE IS A MILITARY FORD JEEP. IT HAS NO ENGINE BUT WAS ALSO SET UP FOR A SMALL BLOCK CHEVY WITH AN AUTOMATIC. IT HAS THE FRONT AND REAR END. I ALSO HAVE A T-90 TRANSMISSION AND T-18 TRANSFER CASE AND A FOUR BANGER F-HEAD ENGINE. ALL THIS STUFF MUST GO AS A PACKAGE FOR $1,300.00. CALL MIKE AT 520-235-4797”
UPDATE: SOLD ! An ewillys reader purchased this one.
Given the passenger side indents, I’d say this is a pretty new body.

“53 Willys CJ3B Runs and drives. This was sitting for a long time in Calif. before I acquired it. Rebuilt carb, fuel tank, and started. It needs lots of work, but should make a fun rig on the farm or for hunting. asking $2000.00 but offers considered.”
The price looks great on this. That said, many people don’t know that these were used during the war of 1959, a little known war pitting the Federalists vs. the Occupationists …

I ran across this January 2010 review from Autoblog.com of the Icon CJ-3B yesterday. The author simply gushes over this vehicle, arguing that this vehicle really is worth $50,000 more than the $21,000 wrangler.
Here are some excerpts:
At this point we normally pose a question – something like, “Is the Icon CJ3B worth $50,000 more than a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon?” But here’s the thing, after a few hours of exposure to the CJ3B, it’s unquestionably worth the money. That’s right, we’re just going to start the review with the conclusion, then explain exactly why this little Icon is so darn special. And believe us, the CJ3B is exceptionally special.
Take Icon’s latest model, the all new CJ3B. Based off the 1953 Willys CJ3B (Icon amazingly holds the rights to the name), [head designer] Ward explains that the design ethos of the old Willys Jeeps was longevity, simplicity and utility. Not only does Ward appreciate these qualities, but he finds them “Sorely lacking from the current automotive industry.”
The EcoTec motor emits less pollutants during a full day of driving than a 1953 Willys CJ3B does just sitting and venting gasoline fumes. As Ward explained, Icon is such a low volume producer that they’re exempt from smog laws. They just happen to run O2 sensors and catalytic converters because they want to. Ward plans to eventually offer the CJ3B in not only a diesel version, but full electric as well.
