Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. There’s some rough spots and it doesn’t run, but it still looks like it might be a good deal.
“Up for sale is a 1956 Willys CJ3B Jeep. This is “barn fresh” with a plow and some extra parts. This high hood Willys is all original and I am the third owner, to the best of my knowledge. It was driven to and parked in storage 2 years ago. It has not run since then. The original Hurricane, 4 cylinder motor is all there and the drive train is in tact and functional. The body is a bit rusty, but the frame is pretty solid. The black soft top on it is in pretty good shape. This Willys is being sold in “as is” condition. Someone with a bit of time and tinkering skills can be plowing this year or start a restoration project for Spring. Please e-mail or call with any questions.”

oh hold the phone .. the body is fiberglass? CJ-3B? That’s pretty rare!
“1953 Willys Jeep CJ3B, VIN: 4J15049, Engine: 4 cylinder, Trans: 3 speed with transfer case in and out 4×4, This vehicle has over 700 hours invested into it. The tub is fiberglass but the hood, fenders, frame, drivetrain are all original to the vehicle. Runs and drives great. Still has original 6 volt system, guages, shifters, shift pattern information plates, etc. A definate must see. We are accepting offers. We have turned down $7,500 so no low ball offers please. This looks like a very good deal considering the quality of trailer.

This CJ-3B includes an overdrive. This might be a pretty good price given the work that has been done.

Rebuilt engine, transmission and transfer case along with new clutch and resurfaced flywheel ~1000 miles. Rebuilt Overdrive unit, less than 100 miles. The engine was sleeved back to standard and compression measures at high specification (125psi). It has an electronic ignition and a high torque starter. Three point harness on front seats and a rear seat (not mounted) to go with it. Full roll cage. Upgraded brakes, 11″ drums front and rear as well as dual reservoir master cylinder. Runs great and has a 12v electrical system.”

It’s got what appears to be a CJ-3A or 2A grille that has been modified into a CJ-3B grille.
It’s a running CJ-3B for only $1200. It’s worth a look.

It appears this frankenstinien CJ-3B ran into an old style apartment radiator.
“I have a willys jeep for sale, I am guessing it’s about a ’52, it comes with a hard-top, it has been converted to a Ford 6 cylinder with 12 volt and HEI ignition”

“All original with F head motor and spare. Ran a few years ago. Engine smoked but ran good. Comes with top and doors. Jeep is very complete and clean, with little surface rust.”

This looks like a nice CJ-3B, but the pics aren’t too close up.
“1953 CJ3B High Hood in great shape. Has 302 Ford engine that runs good. Check out the photos and that pretty well shows the condition this rig is in. 3Bs in good condition are getting tough to find.”
