This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1953 Willys Jeep CJ-3B, Buick 225 V-6 T-98 4 speed. Warren Overdrive. Power steering, power lock front and rear differential. Full roll cage, K-Line Top, swingout spare tire rack with gas cans. 8.5 alum wheels with 10.50×15 all terrain. Dana 44 full floater rear. Less than 3000 miles on total frame up restoration. “This is a 1954 Willy’s Jeep CJ-3B, that’s been lifted, v-8ed and customized. This thing starts and runs great and is great fun to drive! The motor and transmission are Chevy 350/350, and both work great. The duals sound great without being obnoxious. It has power steering, and brakes, and the heater’s hooked up. I’m no jeep expert, but the remainder of the drivetrain appears fairly original equipment to me, other than obviously it was lifted. This Jeep sports 35″/12.50″/15″ radial tires and aluminum wheels, both in excellent shape. ”
It’s a bit beat up on the outside, but otherwise sounds like a good deal.
“I have for sale 1964 Willys CJ3B “High Hood” It has had a inline straight six cylinder engine conversion done. It is an older conversion but was done nicely. Jeep has rancho lift springs, conferr shackles, roll cage, dana 44 rear, dana 27 front, 33×9.50×15 BFG mud terrains that are older tires and slightly faded (not weatherchecked much) with very deep like new tread. It has the original 3 speed T90 transmission with dana 18 transfeYor case. The jeep runs and drives good. The body is rusted pretty bad on the rear tub side panels but the floor pans and rear floor are very solid. The drivers side fender is also bent but a replacement fender that is perfectly straight goes with it. I will not trade for anything other than willys jeeps or parts as well as a 454 engine in very good condition. Cash only I will not ship across the country! Cash Only local delivery possible. UPDATE: A reader named Bob filed the following report: It was pretty beat but did run. Had an arctic hardtop on it and a few rare things like the manual wiper and the rain gutter frame was ok … springs were broken. If it could be had for $700 of so it would be an ok deal. Thanks Bob!
“1953 Willys Jeep. I am not sure of the model, I have been told it is a CJ3B but there also is a tag on the firewall that says M-38. The jeep runs and drives and seems to be all original but the 4cyl engine knocks and the brakes don’t work. The transmission and transfer case seem to work great. Here’s what looks like a very good price on a CJ-3B that includes an Overdrive.
“This is my old Jeep CJ3B. I’m the second owner, and I purchased it in 1998 or so.
Its factory PTO, winch, and overdrive. The winch has a broken foot which I was going to repair, but I figured I’d let the buyer do it (I can still do it if ya want!)
The jeep has a straight 6 conversion engine from the 70s. Its a 232. It runs good, but I have no idea what the mileage is on it. Its factory tranny (3 speed) and transfer case (twin stick). Lots of tread left on the tires, but they are several years old. BFgoodrich 33×9.50×15 on chrome rims. The jeep has a Dana 44 rear and a dana 25 or 27 front (closed knuckle). 5.38 gears. I’ve got another d44 for the jeep that has a warn full floater conversion on it and a lock-right in it. It works great….. The jeep is $1500 obo. ”

When I first saw it, I thought it was restored to original. Instead it’s a custom restoration that seems half original and half custom, which I think hurts the value a bit.

The price looks pretty good for this CJ-3B.
