1953 CJ-3B Arvada, CO **SOLD**

1953 CJ-3B Durango, Co **SOLD**
UPDATE: SOLD, but not picked up yet …
I think there is lots of life left in this CJ-3B, as much of it looks straight and in good condition. However, I would like a closer look at the front bumper area, as that bumper angles a little bit too much.
“I’m selling this 1953 Willys Jeep CJ3B for a friend and neighbor of mine. He’s drove it for as is for a long time. In December last year he pulled the stock T90 transmission to rebuild it as it sometimes popped out of third gear when accelerating. A huge storm hit, dumping so much snow it crushed his garage barely missing the Jeep. Would be a very good, inexpensive project for the right person. I will try to be as detailed and candid as possible but feel free to ask questions and I will answer as quickly as I can. Has a 289 Ford small block under the hood, add a battery, antifreeze and its a runner again. Has been converted to Saginaw steering, with column, box etc. steers easy. Stock running gear behind the engine, T90, spicer 18, stock axles etc. Still has good brakes, has only been sitting since Christmas rather than years in a back field like so many out there…”

1953 CJ-3A Chico, Ca $1750 OBO
There are three pictures of this jeep. Two I *think* are before it was torn down and the third looks like it is an in-progress rebuild. In the third picture, shown to the right, you'll note newer rims and how the body is sitting higher than before (could be a new SOA mod or different springs).

1953 CJ-3B Melba, Id $3500
UPDATE: The price is now $3500
I'm not sure I have seen a jeep with a stainless steel roll cage.
"1953 Willys high hood jeep. Dana 60 rear end, detroit locker. 360 AMC motor, T18 transmission. Custom made stainless steel roll cage. This is a diamond in the rough. $4,000.00 (208) 495-1221"
1962 CJ-3B Portland, Or $6000
There's been some mods to this one, more than described by the seller. Looks like a great trail jeep.
"RARE FIND! Relocation forces sale of Jeep! Original body, new rolling chaise, tires, custom roll cage, 5pt harness seats, 20 gal fuel cell. Custom made cover for outstide storage (has been garaged). 1964 CJ-3B Scotts Valley, Ca $3000
I love Scotts Valley .. I worked out of the old Borland Building for 3 years. There are few better places in the US to work than the old Borland Building (now the Enterprise Technology Center). As for the jeep, it's priced a bit high for a non-running CJ with significant rust.
"All original 1964 Willys CJ-3B (original matching serial number engine and chassis with number plate. Original body color was Spruce Green, now is painted a light blue color. Runs fine, but smokes a little (engine should be rebuilt eventually). Needs some minor work to get running again (battery recharged, gas lines and gas tank drained). Hood looks like it has been replaced at some point. Aftermarket heater installed in front passenger side. Rear bench seat is missing. CD ignition system installed."
1963 CJ-3B Woodland Park, Co $2200
I think this is a good price. It looks like it has a warn winch, good tires and a good top. With the overdrive, you've got $1000 worth of value right there.
"1963 Willys CJ3B jeep V8 with overdrive 31 inch mud tires. Lots of extras. Call Andy 432-7869."
1954 CJ-3B Tacoma, Wa $6500
UPDATE: This was for sale for the same price in July, but the jeep was brown (as you can see in the pic on the right). Now the jeep is gray as seen in the left.
Given that the body is a fiberglass, which is very hard to find for CJ-3Bs (actually impossible is a better word), I'm positive this was produced in the 80s or early 90s. Looks to be in great shape.
"This 1954 3-B Highhood powered by a Chev 383 stroker V-8 and 4-Speed transmission. warn 12,000 lb winch. 36×14.50×16.5 swampers. dana 44 front axle. dana 18 transfercase. Fiberglass Body …."
1953 CJ-3B **SOLD**
(SEE COMMENTS) It appears a great deal of meticulous work has gone into this ‘restoration’ and it looks nice. However, this doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. If you are trying to make jeep that’s just come off the battlefield of WWII and you are going to invest the time and energy, why not do this with an earlier model such as an MB (that really did come off the battlefield) or it’s closest cousin the CJ-2A?
“98K original miles, 6 volt, all stock and original, new engine (it purrs) with maybe 5K on it, rebuilt transmission, rebuilt brakes, fresh upholstery on the original seats, a few dents and dings. Its turn key, needs nothing, starts, runs and drives excellent for a near 60 year old Jeep. Built to look like it just rolled off the battlefield in WWII, extended bed, Flat military green paint, loaded with ammo boxes, vintage tools, military surplus stuff, canvas etc.”
