About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
It hasn’t been driven in almost two decades, but it runs.
“Nice yard find CJ5 Willys Jeep. Starts and drives, body good condition, floors have been patched. Original except for the seats. Last driven 17 years ago. Have title.
This would make a good restoration project or with a little work a fun old Jeep to drive around. I would do it but I already have two projects and no room.”
Bill spotted this one. The fenders on this are rough, especially the passenger side. But, still might be a good price.
“Fixer-upper, 1970 Jeep CJ5 Dauntless, 50k miles, 2 wheel drive, V-6 225 c.i. engine, automatic transmission, like new tires. This is a Dauntless, a unique Jeep CJ5 that came with the V6 225 c.i. engine and automatic transmission. Engine is in good shape, runs smooth and clean, no leaks, lots of torque and power, (not like the underpowered 4 cylinder).”
“I have 2 Jeeps for sale and lots of parts. 67 cj5 needs engine and front end swap. 56 cj5 needs put back together and a little TLC. These are stock Jeeps and have some rust, powered by 134F heads. Also have 2 flathead engines 134 L heads. Also complete M38A1 military running gear, engine, transmission and transfer case, front and rear ends. Give me a call and we can talk price and trades. Always looking for Jeep CJ parts and need late cj5 stuff at this time.”
“1961 CJ5 Willy’s Jeep. 4 wheel drive. Manual transmission. Plow. Hasnt been started in several years. Needs starter and alternator rebuilt. Has 90k on body and has 1951 Willy’s motor with 35,000 miles on it. Ran when parked a few years ago, shouldn’t take much to get it running again. Clean NJ title. $2000 cash.”
This ad is funny. Given the rear PTO, the blade in front and the Meyer hardtop, this jeep looks to have value.
“1962 Willy’s Jeep Model CJ5 4×4 w/6′ Snow Plow and 8,000# winch
134cid F-Head 4 cylinder engine, manual 3-speed transmission with Hi/Low range and PTO
This Jeep has worked hard her entire life. I personally have owned her for more years than I can remember. It has served as a utility vehicle to help gather firewood in the fall and plow the road in the winter. During the summer she mostly just sits around gathering wasps. She’s old, she has cancer and she smokes 5 packs a day but by golly she still runs! Unfortunately, the long years of hard work have finally taken its toll and she just doesn’t have enough compression in the old pistons to push the plow like she used to. Her tired old engine could really use a rebuild.
Although we have worked this old girl hard over the years, we have done much to keep her going! She has new springs and shocks that gave her a much needed 2″ lift so she could hold those 31” tires. She got a new gas tank about 3 years ago, along with a new clutch, carburetor, starter, alternator conversion (she originally had a generator!), all new brakes, and just last month she got a brand new battery! She has also been rewired front to back and now has a fuse box!
“here we have a cj 5 open body 4 cyl 134 cu.in f head all 4 wheel drive willys herricane borg warner t 90 trans dana 18 tranfer case total made 6147. serial 87151 model 57548. runs good needs clutch linkage. we will be adding a tire or two. plow works good frame, tub is rusty.”
This has a Meyer hardtop and might have some Free-lock hubs.
“64 JEEP CJ5, mostly stock running gear. 4 cyl., metal hardtop (in good condition) with roll up windows. Short fender. Runs and drives but not a daily driver yet. Nice tub with very minimal rust. Priced at $3,900.”
UPDATE: As Carl points out, this has a ventilating windshield and it runs. Could be a good price.
“This 1960 Willys is ready for off road fun. It features a rag top, roll bar, Warn hubs, Standard 4 cyl engine, std wheels and 3 spd trans. It also has recent new brake cyls, master cyl, windshield, 12 volt system update, rebuilt starter, rebuilt radiator, rebuilt gas tank, gauges, 12 volt cig lighter, battery, 12 volt alt and recent tune up, new fluids, gear lube, u joints, shocks, motor mounts and exhuast system. NOTE: The speed o needs replacement and it needs a new sending unit for the gas gauge. Please No trades”
“I have a 57 Willy’s jeep. Buick v6 231, with manual transmission. This jeep runs, drives , and wheels! Not a show jeep, not a commuter. ( not a $12k jeep- it’s a $3500 jeep). Just like to make this clear . Definitely a great machine to go cruising around, 4wd, wheeling, hunting etc.
power steering, new seats( need new mounting brackets made for seats) Registered, clean title . Perfect Xmas gift .”
(12/04/2017) The serial number suggests this is a 1965. It looks to have a Kelly hardtop with Meyer doors?
“I just bought this at an auction last week without a title. It has been sitting a long time. Plate says 1971. Don’t know much about these old jeeps. Please try to figure out model/year etc. from firewall tag. I do not know. The engine seems seized. The floors are rotted & patched but frame & body mounts look very good. The plow set up is bolted on the frame & looks good too. The blade is rotted above cutting blade (but still useable). I have the rear tire chains too. I don’t want to part this out, but I will if it doesn’t sell soon. Just looking for something to plow around my lot. I do not want to have to rebuild the engine.”
