Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This doesn’t run, but that’s because the seller doens’t have the key. This deserves a close look.
“I have a 1958 Willys Jeep CJ5 Project not currently running, Complete, Stock powertrain 4cyl 3spd, Not sure what all it needs to get running I do not have a key to ignition so key would be a good start. Previous owner put new timing set on engine so timing might need to be set and radiator and gas tank are removed but come with Jeep.”

This appears pretty good, but someone has cut the edge of the entry to the driver’s side.

I put more into this Jeep than I’m asking. My next thing is to re-do my seats…but its a ruff N tuff Jeep …not you’re pretty restored parade jeep. I drove it on the Ranch everyday….but now I’m not at the Ranch and need to sell it.

This needed a battery at the very least. The seller needs to sell quickly. It includes a warn winch.
“My husband had started on this as a project before he got sick. He passed away a week and a half ago and I’m left with this. I know it ran good but needed a new battery (which now is missing, suppose he took it out and was going to put on in). Its soft top. He already has the seats that were going to go in it so those will be included”

(08/17/2012) This has some rare coil springs installed on the rear. The seller is a little confused about the CJ-3B. The overload springs shown in the first pic might be an earlier version of the Canfield Springs shown in the brochure in the following post.

This looks more like a CJ-5 than a M-38A1. No shots of the dash to confirm. This might be worth a look.

* Appears to be all original running gear. I have all the engine components and everything else to put it back together.
* Started tear down for full restore. Lots of pictures and labeled most everything. To many projects.
* Very little cancer. Ready to restore or put it back together and enjoy.
*Parked over 20yrs ago needing head work. Tranny seems good and engine rolls over.”
