The buyer purchased this jeep a couple months ago, but has never gotten this v6 started. Note: it includes an overdrive. This might be a good deal if the engine turns over and you can talk the seller down a bit (after all, it’s non running & needs new tires) on price. Then go through this check list as these are the most likely issues:
- Is the carb getting gas? If not, the filter is likely plugged or the fuel pump is not working
- Is the distributor getting spark? Pull a plug, leaving connected to the plug wire, set it against the block, and watch for a spark (easiest at night).
- If 1 & 2 are good, check and see if the distributor is simply backwards. rotate the cap 180 degrees (or the wires — this happened to me this summer when finishing my engine build).

Very nice!!!!! 1965 Tuxedo Park Mark IV CJ5 jeep. This is a very nice Jeep with a $4500.00 paint job and new tires. The motor is new rebuilt with about 1000 miles on it. Runs very smoth and strong with now drivetrain noise. The paint is very detailed on the floor bord, dash, and rims. The seats are camo with three pont set belt with warn hubs”
