Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1966 CJ5 hardtop, has 60’s Ford inline 6, stock running gear, no rust, have wrangler back seat, extra body tub with front hoop roll bar and frame, doesn’t run but does crank, probably needs fuel system clean and points, brakes work”
UPDATE: Thanks to Roger Martin for taking some pics at this auction. It looks like there were plenty of bidders on the jeeps. Roger reports there were nine jeeps auctioned. The prices varied from $380 to $2000. The green jeep below was won with a $2000 bid (which included an extra running engine!). 3 of the Jeeps had PTOs.
This includes a new tub. It could be a good buy and project.

“1963 Willy’s jeep. It was running and then tore down. Frame was sand blasted and powder coated. New springs put on.
Has a new tub un setup. Have original tub as well but fair amount of rust in it.

“1944 willies clean title has original frame with the machine gun mount it is sitting on a cj5 Dana 30 and Dana 44 with 4.27 gears has a t90 and dana 18 t case for pretty close to my asking price I can include a 81 jeep 2.5 that has the Chevrolet bellhousing pattern 4000 or make an offer on it the only rust is pictured and a little bit on the rocker right above the hole”

“I have 3 jeeps two Willy’s and one cj or somthing not shure one has no axels but has tranny in it and is fairly solid hav extra moter could be put in it not shure of condition tho also spare tranny and transfer case the other one is compleate just no weels and tires and the tranny is pulled out of it anyhow I’ll sale all three of them for 2000 or best offer”
