Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Restored 1967 Jeep CJ5. Great condition. Clean title. Garage stored.
The CJ5 restoration was completed in early 2017 and brought to Nantucket 2021. It has about 600 miles since restoration. The CJ is all original except the tub. Even the color is a factory color. It has a rare 6 cylinder. Most were delivered with the standard 4 cylinder. There is a new top with side windows, but need poles. The following was added: electronic ignition. electric fuel pump and a ahooga horn. Its in mint condition.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8200.
Given the dash plaques, this was likely a long time Jeep Club jeep. This likely has the F-5-200W Kelly hardtop (it could have been original to the jeep).
“Clean little 1966 CJ5 for sale runs and drives great, v6 96000 original miles. Hard top, 3 speed manual with two speed transmission. Defrost with heat and 2nd heater for cab. No rust just a couple minor dings. Also comes with factory driver seat, hydraulic snow plow, plow lights. Cool little jeep, just a little small for me. Clean title in hand.”
Lacks working brakes, but has a rear PTO gearbox and a sears or allstate branded half cab. It also has a rare 0-9 King Seeley speedometer (with a normally broken needle).

“1962 Willys Jeep CJ5: Just up from Florida, with Florida registration. 4WD with 3 speed on floor. Original L134 motor with 24K miles! Very rare Kelly winter cab that locks and factory heater (always Florida vehicle). Rear over wheel seats that match front seats. Unbelievable Condition!”
Mike spotted this trencher. It’s not far from him. He said he’d be willing to look at it for someone. I’m surprised this doesn’t have duallies on the back. It does have a rear pto gear box sitting in the jeep as well, so it seems there is some definite parts value here.

David spotted this jeep. It includes a hardtop. Curiously, this chassis has the front reverse shackles, suggesting that either the jeep is earlier than 1958 (though it has the later SW 0-9 speedo or that the frame might not be original to the body. A close inspection is necessary on this one.

David shared this CJ-5. Note that the body is pre-1963 (had the fake battery box lid), so unclear why this is listed as a 1966.

“1974 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade 4×4. 304 v8, 3 speed. This is a project Jeep. Motor is stuck, could be clutch fork don’t know. Everything is there for the Jeep except seats, but do have brackets and hardware. Mostly a complete jeep. It is a Renegade cj5 model. It will need a lot of work mainly in driveline and body. Frame is good. Has its original pinto bean style rims and seems to be an original jeep with everything there. Sold as is where is. Will need trailered. No trades. 2500.00”
