Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I bought this planning on making a Rock crawler project. My plans of changed. It is a very very good shape for a 1967 CJ-6. CJ-6 is very rare. Floorboards are in good shape. A couple small rust spots on the front cab. It has a best top soft top on it. The windows are good on it but the vinyl has some checking. Full-size bias ply tires. Gas can/spare tire carrier on the back. Rear tailgate great shape. Not the original seats. It runs I just put a new carburetor on it that needs adjustment. It has manual locking hubs. It also has a Warn 8274 winch on it already.”

“I have two project jeeps. 1967 commando half cab, no tranz or t case. It has the v6 in it still but it does not run. The other is a 1960 cj6, 4cyl engine that is stuck. Rear body is rusty. “1974 jeep cj6 for sale, runs and drives like it should. It also has a big pto winch on the front bumper. Has a new clutch and new brake master cylinder. I have a clean blue Texas title for it. Jeep only made 50,000 of the cj6 so your wont find any of them. ”

“This 1965 Jeep CJ-6A Tuxedo Park Mark IV is extremely rare – only 140, or so, of these were built in 1965, with only about 460 CJ-6A “Tux’s” ever being built during the Tuxedo Park’s nine year run. This makes it one of the rarest production Jeeps out there.
The body and frame are extremely rusted and pretty much trashed…unless you are extremely talented and patient with metal work. However, the title, VIN, special parts, etc. make it a prime candidate if you are looking to restore a CJ-6 of this vintage using a donor vehicle. A restored Tuxedo Park can be worth over double a standard restored CJ-6. Why spend your money on a basic restore when you can do it as a Tuxedo Park?!

(05/31/2015) Listed as a 1953, which would make it an M-170, it looks more like a later CJ-6.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $950.
It runs. Seller indicates there’s very little rust, but there seems to be some rust or damage around the middle of the passenger side.
