UPDATE: Price dropped to $17,900

“This Jeep was registered to the Georgia Forestry Department for most of its life. It had 58,827 miles on the odometer.

It sat for over 10 years in a barn before the owner sold it to the person before me. It has many new components, from seals to gas tank and many items in between. Runs and Drives very good. Being a southern Jeep, the body was very clean. New paint, factory Pewter Grey Metallic, looks very nice. 35″ Super Swampers (new) on New Mickey Thompson wheels. It does have fiberglass front fenders, both original fenders were bent over time.

304 AMC V-8, T-15 3 Speed Transmission, Dana 20 Transfer Case, Dana 30 front Axle & Dana 44 Rear Axle. I believe it has 3.73 gearing.

The Jeep CJ-6 was introduced for 1956, and was in production for just under 20 years. It was essentially identical to the classic CJ-5, just stretched by a massive 20 inches. There were 2800 made this last year of production for the US.

1973, when parent company AMC shoved a 304-cubic-inch V8 under the hoods of all CJ models. AMC also improved the rest of the vehicle by equipped heavier axles, bigger brakes and a wider track.

The CJ-6, moving just 50,172 units over the course of its two-decade life”

1971 CJ-6 Troutman, NC $4000

• CATEGORIES: CJ-6 • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $4000.

(12/18/2013) This appears solid.

Rare 1971 CJ-6. 80% restored. New tie rods, complete new brake system, new gas tank, fuel lines and fuel pump, new wiring harness (when I got it , it had the original wiring with a lot of extras wiring that had been added over the years from previous owners) , 2 extras front fenders, a new transfer case rebuild kit for it’s original Dana 18 transfer case, more. I bought it because it is so rare and we wanted an older Jeep from the early 70’s. I drove it for about 6 months before starting to fix it up. I came across a CJ5 that I loved and decided to let this one go. It still needs a little work before it could be painted and it would be a heck of a jeep that many people don’t have. The V6 motor and transmission all are in good shape. All it needs is the final finishes on the wiring harness, the transfer case rebuilt, tires and paint.

1967 CJ-6 Norman, OK **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000

Gas tank has been moved to the rear.

“This vehicle is very fun to drive and will turn heads and start conversations everywhere you go. The CJ6 is highly uncommon if not rare (at least it is rare these days), yet is still easy to find parts for & work on. It is basically a CJ7 with a wheelbase and cabin that is stretched by 20 inches, so from what I understand (& have verified by my experience), most parts off of a CJ7 of the same era will work on a similarly equipped CJ6. It appears to me that this vehicle has the original 225 ci Dauntless V6 in it, which still starts right up and provides plenty of power. The transmission is a manual 3 speed with a PTO which you should be able to engage using a lever near the gear shift, however I am unsure if the PTO works or not. This has been a very fun car to own, but my wife and I are having a baby and moving and it is time to sell it. Hopefully this Jeep will find a new home with someone who will enjoy it as much as I have.”html

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.

(10/25/2014) Runs and drives.

“1963 Willys CJ-6. Kaiser manufactured. 4 cylinder, 3 speed. Runs and drives good. Odometer says 31280, may well be original. Has rust in fenders and some in the floor. Has some bondo and patch work. Has a nice Bestop soft top. I read they made 50,000 of these versus 10x as many CJ-5s. The CJ-6 has a 20″ longer wheelbase, otherwise they are the same. Predecessor to the CJ-8 scrambler and the LJ wrangler, this is the original. I got it to restore, but have a few other projects going. I am also selling two a Willys CJ-2As.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay

Purchased in March of 1967 by the White River Township Fire and Rescue Department in Winchester Indiana, she was used as a brush vehicle in service until 2002. Actual milage in 2002 was under 10,000 miles (I have a letter from Chief Stacy H. Lewis attesting to this). Current mileage is under 19,000 miles.

She has been in my possession since 2010. Partial restoration done by High Lift Jack Co. in the early 2000’s. Between 2010 and 2013 she was disassembled, the engine (original) was taken apart and cleaned and reassembled. All plastic and rubber parts were replaced. A fully integrated custom roll-cage was fabricated with safety in mind. Four Range Rover jump seats with custom headrests are bolted to the roll-cage. The driver and passengers are all secured in the vehicle with 4 or 5-point racing harnesses.

(01/22/2014) How about the front of this modified CJ-6? I think there’s some potential in that design. However, the rest of this didn’t inspire me as much.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

(10/06/2014) Runs and drives.

“Up for grabs is my 1963 CJ6. I bought this rig for a project but they are starting to stack up too deep and its time to clean out the shop. For those that don’t know, the CJ6 is the longest CJ ever built. Its unique wheel base and distinctive length make it highly sought after and very rare.

The Jeep has an inline 4 cylinder engine and a 3 speed transmission (not sure if they are original, but they are era correct), its got a twin stick differential and and Warn super low reduction case, its a true workhorse in the mountains. This Jeep is in outstanding condition and is a prime candidate for a refinish or a good ranch jeep. It runs in its current state and can be driven, but the brakes could use some work. The tub is really clean with very few dings and no pretty cancer free. I tried to detail the FEW rust spots in the pictures. The top is not the correct top but it could work with some modification, no other tops come with this Jeep. Buyer can either take it the one thats on it or leave it for no charge. This thing is a true peice of american excellence just waiting for a good home. ”
