Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1974 Jeep DJ5C Postmaster’s Jeep rare originally equipped Left-hand drive . 232 straight six engine and automatic transmission. Rebuilt carburetor, new king pins, brand new tires.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was listed at $3200.
“I am selling my 1974 Right Hand Drive DJ5 Jeep. I bought it to deliver mail but never got to use it as my route assignment got changed. It drives like a champ! It is automatic transmission with manual steering. It has a brand new engine (6 cyl AMC 232) and transmission(727-TF). The body has a little surface rust but nothing is rusted through. It has a spare tire and several other extra parts that were given to me when I bought it. Like a brand new in the box set of brake shoes. It has good tires! I have a clear title. It is Texas registered and inspected thru March 2015. It has a radio and speakers. Seat is in good shape with no holes or tears and comes with a mail tray that you could remove and replace with a passenger seat.”

“Used Mail Jeep, 75′ DJ5D.
Would make a great RAt-ROd, mud buggy or use for getting around the farm. Way cheaper than a side-by-side.
Sold for Parts/project only, No title, but Bill of Sale.
Converted to 4×4. Lock-outs in hubs.
Chevy 305, Holley Carburetor. AT. Heat works well.
Runs well. Drives, stops.

“I have a 1983 DJ5 Mail Jeep that I got in trade for sale. It has the 2.5 GM 4cyl automatic 2wd. It is Right Hand Drive. It runs and drives, has decent tires. I have the mail tray but it is not bolted in. This vehicle was being used to deliver mail until about a year ago. Could be used on mail route, farm, made into a cool 4wd or a rat/hot rod. I have read that the 4×4 running gear from a CJ5 is a bolt in and that the frame on the DJ is actually stronger than the CJ frame. I am asking $1500 cash obo. I will negotiate lower price in person and your best deal will be showing me cash. I will consider trades. Call or text only between 7am and 10pm only please. I attached a couple of pictures of what people have done with these.”

Runs and drives, but has a few issues.
“This DJ-5 runs and has fairly good tires. The body is in fair shape for its age, with normal wear and tear, like some dents, minor rust, mail box scratches, etc. Comes with mail tray. Fairly new battery.
It needs some work (uses about a quart oil/day; cooling system has small water leak – maybe hose, not sure; brakes pull to one side – maybe just needs bleeding, or new master cylinder, not sure; windshield is cracked; left-side rear window popped out – can easily be fixed; transmission sometimes jumps out of gear – don’t think it’s serious, probably a simple linkage fix, but not sure). [The pics are from a few months ago – more recent photos available on request]”

7000 on new used motor new brakes, new radiator, Carburetor, Master cylinder and each wheel cylinders are new. New starter, battery is a year old. Trans does leak a bit. uses no oil.
All lights work. Parking brake works.
