About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1959 Jeep Willy FC-170 Longbed for sale. Not interested in parting out for parts. Although this is definitely a project vehicle, it is worth it if you are looking for a clean titled vintage vehicle. Chassis is in fair condition but is repairable, the bed has some rust. Drive train, engine, intact but has not been driven since 1996, wheels and tires intact. No front or rear window on the cab. Call 465-2100 if interested. Thanks for looking, Mark”
(02/20/2010) Here’s an FC Project. Check out the list of recent work done on the craigslist ad. Lots of good pics at the link below.
“I bought this FC 150 last year with the best intention of restoring it. It reminded me of my old 404 Mercedes Unimog. I still really like it, but I don’t have enough time to restore it. I also own a 1974 Jeep J-4800 gladiator pickup and I can’t justify owning two pickups. The cab lower parts and pickup bed floor has rust and needs body work. It does run and drive fine though. The transfer case and transmission works well in all ranges. It has Warn locking front hubs which I just cleaned and greased. I removed the fuel tank, flushed and treated the interior with a rust converter. Registration is current and the CA title is clear in my name. No DMV hassles and is smog exempt…. Problems include the rust I mentioned above, a broken speedo, cracks in the door window glass. Windshield is not cracked however. Engine kind of sounds like a diesel, but has good oil pressure. I have never owned a 4 cyl jeep before so it could be normal. Exhaust needs replacing. Fuel pump was replaced with a solid state electric one by the previous owner. It works fine. The mechanical fuel pump is still in place, but I never tested to see if it works. Tires are old and should be replaced. The seats are probably not original because they don’t fit right. ”

(03/16/2010) Here’s a nice looking build with an engine and tranny update. It still needs some interior work.
“Rare find, 1959 Jeep FC-150. This is a stock appearing FC-150 that has the following modifications/improvements:
1. Chassis has been sandblasted and painted with POR15.
2. First engine was the wimpy 4 cylinder and I then changed it to a V6 Dauntless from a 1967 Jeepster after resealing and rebuilding all rotating components. Engine is fitted with headers and dual exhaust.
3. Transmission was changed from the 3 speed to a Turbo 400 automatic. There is no evidence inside the cab that it is an automatic. The shifter is the original and the pedals are all the same. The Brake and the Clutch pedal have been joined.
4. There is a new wiring harness and new instruments installed in crinkle finish dash. The interior is without headliner cardboard and doors do not have cardboard panels installed.
5. New windshield and rear glass, one door has new glass.
6. All NEW springs, not rebuilt. New Shocks, new Brakes. Front axle has disc brakes.
7. Body has NEW cab corners, NEW floors. The cab was plastic bead paint removed and spray weld to treat any traces of rust. There are no bondo patches anywhere.
No stories, I have had it long enough and I dislike interior work so I never finished the interior. It is quite powerful and runs like a bear. I have never had it off road in 10 years. My Son needs a car and my wife insists on airbags. I have over $15k in this at this point but it is time for it to go. There is no title as Vermont does not title vehicles over 15 years old. Sold on a bill of sale.”
“This “Go-anywhere,” “Tough-job traction” truck is on the market here for the first time in over 20 years. Originally purchased from a glass co. in OHIO by the current owner. He has done a complete frame off restoration as you can plainly see in the photos. Introduced in 1957 the Jeep Willys FC-170 was wider and carried a heavier load than the FC-150. It has a Kaiser 6-226 motor inline 6 that is good on gas. You won’t get stuck with high/low option 4WD and LT235/85R16 tires.
The bed is made of appatong wood said to be 5 times harder than oak for those heavy loads. The truck has a 7,000 lb. GVW, a 103″ wheelbase with a 108″ bed. The Cab-over design is very unique. There were approximately 2,000 FC-170’s built in ’61. You will be guaranteed to be the hit of the car shows…”
Only a day left on this auction. The motor has been pulled.

(06/05/2009) “My Father is ready to sell his Eastern Washington 1959 FC-170 Jeep located in Chelan, WA. Introduced in 1957, FC-170 models had a 103 inches (2,616 mm) wheelbase with a 108 in (2,743.2 mm) bed. This model is significant as it was the first time the length of the payload box – 9 feet (2.7 m) with the tailgate up – exceeded the wheelbase of a truck. This was achieved by the forward cabin layout. The Jeep starts right up and is ready for you to take it home!”
