About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Basket case in need of restoration. Complete drivetrain. 4cyl, 4spd. Has rust, needs windshield. Clean SC title. Currently stored 2 hrs from me so the only pictures available at this time are the ones posted. I will try to update soon.”
“1960 Willy’s Jeep Forward Control FC 170 with original Garwood PTO/hydraulic dump bed. 226 flat head 6 cylinder that has a spun rod bearing. Rebuilt T98a 4 speed trans w/new clutch and rebuilt Dana 18 transfer case. 4×4, Dana 44 front and Dana 53 rear axle, 4″ lift springs. Was running and driving 15years ago until rod bearing spun. disabled the bad cylinder and ran it on 5 cylinders for a few years(just to move it around the yard), but now it sits. No time and too many other projects, I know FC’s are rare, this one is one of a couple hundred factory cab and chassis made in 1960. Was a bought new buy Forest Service in Cle Elum. When it was surplus, it was bought by a gold miner that used it on his claim outside of Cle Elum until the late 1990’s. It is ruff, but complete and I need it gone! $2000 OBO. If you want to negotiate the price, then show up with a trailer and cash in your hand and we can talk.”
“1957 Jeep Willys Forward Control For Sale. 40,300 actual miles documented by title work. No expense spared body off frame restoration. 200 miles since completion. Numbers matching drivetrain. Believed to be the nicest Forward Control of the era. 100’s of documented pics of the restoration, show poster boards of the resto and factory spec boards. $38,500/offer.”
“1955 Willy’s Jeep model 170. 6 Cylinder standard. With winch, and also with PTO for plowing. Have all chrome. Vehicle is sold on an as is where is basis. Buyer is responsible for shipping. Vehicle must be paid for in cash within 10 days after auction close. Vehicle must be removed from property by buyer within 30 days of auction close. This vehicle is located about a half hour drive outside of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.”
“1957 FC-150 Jeep Pickup 4×4. No engine or transmission in this project vehicle. Electric/Hydraulic flatbed dump. The 7′ bed makes it seem longer like its FC-170 cousin with a 9′ bed. The original pickup bed in an FC-150 is 6′ long.
The condition of the cab is in the top 10% of the surviving FC’s in my estimation. The cab corners are solid. The only rust is along the front edge below the grill, see photos. It doesn’t look like it was repaired before a previous owner painted it. The doors close very nicely. No typical crease in the driver’s door. And the floors are solid.
It’s an easy project waiting for your engine/transmission combination. I have an original F4-134 engine and T-90 transmission from another FC at an additional cost. The truck still has the original 4 cyl. motor mounts. I planned to install a Ford Mustang 6-200 cu. in. engine adapted to a Willys T-90. I would sell the Ford small six with adapter & T-90 for what I have into it. Or use your own engine preference. A V8 is not recommended in this little truck. V6, yes!
If you don’t like the dump bed, I also have an original bed from a 1960 FC150 that needs the rails straightened and some rust repair, and can easily be adapted to the earlier frame if you prefer an original bed, for a little more cost.”
“1963 Jeep FC170 – rare Forward Control model. Ordered new as a fire support truck, low actual miles but then sat and engine froze up. Original engine in bed. Has all new rebuilt engine, with new pistons, bearings, clutch, pp, flywheel. Runs great. New brakes all round, new lines, new cylinders, hubs, bearings, gas tank boiled and sealed, etc. Good 3 speed trans. 4WD. Sticky shifter, needs linkage bushings, didn’t get to that yet.
Body is very good. Interior is honestly rough. Very rare utility body. No wannabes, please.”
Asking $3500, but will take offers. Lots of pics provided.
“Rare truck ready to build. 58 Jeep Forward Control 170 4×4. All there except for seats. Rolls and steers, Very solid Nevada truck. Not running. Good title. Have source for new windshield and rubber. Engine all together, Transport available, call or email.”
“For sale 1958 Jeep FC170. Currently not running. Perfect project for restoration. Drive-train is there. Solid frame. Body needs work. These Jeeps are becoming harder and harder to find.”
“up for auction is my rare willys jeep fc 170. This is a cabover jeep pickup made for only a few years. The truck starts runs and drives well but will overheat after a few minutes and the brakes need attention. You will need to tow or trailer it away. A chevy 350 engine and automatic trans have been installed. The front driveshaft has not been fitted. The vehicle needs work. The body is solid with minimal rust for the year. It has been a California car all its life. It is a very charismatic vehicle that gets smiles and waves wherever it goes.”
“For sale, a very rare (1 of 1,119) 1964 Kaiser Jeep Forward Control 170 3/4 ton pickup truck. 1964 was the last year of production for the FC-170 and the end of the Kaiser/Jeep era. This could be your only chance to ever buy a fully restored FC-170, no kidding they are that rare.
This Jeep was fully restored by a professional shop in 2010. Nothing was overlooked, full frame off restoration. Since restoration the Jeep has accumulated approximately 1000 proven miles and runs great. I has the original power train with the legionary Super Hurricane 6 cylinder engine.
Has PTO driven front winch
Custom fuel tank
Custom rear bumper with LED tail lights”
“I have a 1960 Jeep FC-150 that I am doing a quick part out on. The cab/doors/bed are all pretty rusted, and windshield and driver’s window are broken, but there are still parts on her that are worth saving including:
axles
door handles
window cranks
glove box
seat frames
sun visors
engine cover
trailer hitch
front bumper
steering wheel
dash
gear shifters
interior trim pieces
Passenger glass, rear glass, both quarter glass
If you need something, give me a call and I can see if it is still there. Unless it is something small, I don’t really have time to remove anything, so it will be on you to get it off/out. But give me a call and we can discuss availability and price.
Right now, the frame, tailgate side emblems and possibly the engine/trans are spoken for, and this weekend I am considering cutting her nose off to keep around the house. In a week or two, what is left will go to the scrap yard.”
