Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “FC-170 For Sale. I’m listing this for a friend thats not online. 1964 FC-170 4 x 4 runs and drives, registered and insured. Hurricane 6 cylinder with 3 speed manual shift. Has an overdrive unit but the actuating cable is currently broken. The windshield is in good shape. The driver door glass is cracked. The frame looks clean. The cab has some rust holes but not too bad. It has a nice solid oak bed. My buddy inherited this from his Dad who owned a local Jeep dealership in town back in the day. This thing has been stored inside for the last 40-50 yrs! Comes with a CT bill of Sale. Vintage vehicles like this don’t have titles in CT, located in Canton CT, $15,000 cash.”

“Must sell, will take first reasonable offer. 1957 Jeep fc 170 manual transmission 4×4 needs bed and/or full restoration. It’s an inline Chevrolet 6cyl. Runs, drives and brakes. Definitely a project though… I was going to build and put a flatbed on it. Just too many projects and want to move this one along. This is a project!”
There’s some value here. That bed looks to be about 6′ x 9′, which I could potentially repurpose for the bed of the Tour jeep.

“1962 Jeep Fc-170 6 cyl 3 speed manual transmission. Believe to be 55k actual miles. Been sitting since 1999, one family owned. Has a few dings and dents, because it has been used for cattle farming its whole life.Basically all original little to no rust , some minor surface rust in places. Not currently running but engine does currently turn over, believe valves to be stuck. Family wants to start at $14000 ( no real idea of value) cash or cashier check only”
