“ A very unique Willys Jeep FC-170.
Bought new in Oregon by a rancher – story told he bought it new and then had the engine swapped out to a Hercules 6 cylinder because it had many more H.P. Then he had a professional welder fabricator build a hauling container on the back for hauling two horses, two cows, or maybe just one Rhino.
It has not been running for about 9 years. It has been kept in a heated storage unit for last 7 years. One cab corner needs to be replaced but they do make reproduction replacements. Right side glass needs to be replaced also.
There is a Winch under the truck and rollers under each bumper so you can winch from the front or the rear. There are doors on both sides of the hauling box for putting hay in there for the animals. It has a snorkel air cleaner, snorkel oil breather, and a snorkel gas fill. The welds are very high quality – you can’t even see any grinding marks. This truck can cross rivers!
The tailgate is operated through a pulley system with a really cool antique crank. And it really works. Check out the pictures! The seats were recovered early on, so the original upholstery is still on the seats. I will add other oddities as I think of them.””
Unclear if it starts/drives.
“This is a 1958 Jeep FC-170 all origional 6 cylinder 4×4. If you have any more questions feel free to email me. Thanks!”
UPDATE: Was $1000. **SOLD**
This looks more like a FC-170 to me. I will be returning to Pasco tomorrow night. I could look at this for someone if it lasts that long.
“This rare model Jeep pickup also has a utility box built for a welder and tanks. This great project ran when parked, but does need some work as shown by the reasonable price.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
“Well I’m sure no expert on old Jeeps, but a friend of mine gave me this FC-170. His dad is 80 years old, and has had it for many years. This is what I would call “Barn Fresh.” It has been sitting in a barn for at least the last 5 years or so idle. He says it was running and driving when it was last parked.
Here is what I know about it. It’s a 63′ or 64′, and it says Kaiser/jeep Corp on the I.D. plate. It is a factory flat-bed, 1 ton with dual rear wheels. This thing is rated to cary over 2 tons! It weighs 3,720 pounds empty, and has a G.V.W. of 8,000 lbs. Delivery date was Sept of 1963. It has a 6 cyl. flat head engine, and a manual transmission. The rear end is a Dana 70 and the front end is a Dana 30. This jeep has 5:37 gears I’ve been told. This Jeep could be used for parts, or better yet… be restored.
The engine turns free, and I’m sure someone more mechanical than myself, could have it up and running again in fairly short order. I do not have a title for it, and can only offer you a bill of sale. The previous owner has alzheimers (he can not locate the title). I do have the shop manual for it.
It’s sure not perfect, but it’s not real rusty like some I’ve seen. (I would say its 99% rust-free). This jeep is over 48 years old and being sold as is. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best, than be disappointed in any way. My opening bid is 950.00 with no reserve. Now all that having been said….. I can’t imagine finding a better FC170 for the price…I only want the buyer to be happy with it…Thanks.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $12,500.

“1959 Willys Jeep Forward Control FC 170. Very rare. 16000 original miles. Used originally as a fire truck. Converted to a dump truck with dual exhaust by high school auto body program. Dual pistons under dump. Can lift a load. Truck has no rust, has sandblasted and painted frame. 4 speed transmission and completely rebuilt engine. Truck can haul like wild.
