This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Here are some slides with jeeps currently for sale on eBay. The first one is an unusual tour jeep that I hadn’t seen previously. It’s somewhere at least semi-tropical, based on the upper right tree.

5. And, finally, this slide shows a rare yellow DJ-3A used by the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce. I don’t have many vintage photos showing a DJ-3A in the original yellow color (though they do appear on several brochures).

There were some jeeps at SEMA 2023 this year, but one of the most interesting was a rebuilt FC-170 by Roy. The excerpt starts at 2;27. (I can’t tell what the narrator is saying, because my sound isn’t working tonight for some reason).

“1960 Jeep Forward Control FC 150 “Slow Tow” Custom build. Original 4cyl, 3sp original drive train. 4wd works as it should. Cranks and runs first try every time. Front PTO that runs the original Ramsey winch. All lights, turn signals, etc work properly. This truck is a real head turner every where it goes. Top speed is a little over 50mph. You can feel all of the factory rated 72 hp. Towing set up is just for show. This was a complete frame off tear down and rebuild. Zero rust on frame. Notice the wiring…there isn’t a rats nest hanging under the dash like many of the other ones listed. Hester works. I put a couple hundred miles on it during cruisin the coast and did the same for jeepin the coast. I own several of these but this is the most fun and I drive it the most. I am moving soon and only have room to keep a few items. Make me an offer because it has to go. Clean title in hand.”
