UPDATE: Back on eBay.
This seems like an appropriate card, since we’ll be driving through Idaho today. The back of the postcard mentions Gowen Field.

I haven’t run across many ads that included M-38s.
“ORIGINAL VINTAGE MAGAZINE ITEM
1951 Goodrich Geon JEEP waterproof upholstery Ad”
It’s a meat little winching pamphlet extolling the virtues of the Koenig winch.
“Jeep King Winches original pamohlet brochure.Measures 8 by 14 inches”
The seller indicates this was a Park Avenue tape measure? It’s the first one I’ve ever listed here at eWillys. Must be pretty rare.

Education Elements is willing to pay $2500-$3000 for renting a small vintage jeep that is in good looking condition for an event happening in San Antonio October 25-28. Based on my conversation with him a CJ-2A/3A/3B/DJ/or CJ-5 would likely be the best fit.
Education Elements is an education consulting company located in CA that is participating at an event happening in San Antonio TX in October. The company is presenting at 5 sessions and hosting a booth and would like to decorate the booth with an old Jeep (as a symbol of the journey the road trip, the adventure..) The audience of the conference is only educators and district leaders, so no kids to play around 🙂
The car won’t be driven, it will be simply placed indoor at a booth, as decor element. It will be indoor, inside the convention center.

The Gypsy Rose Lee Jeep is a stripped down version of the regular jeep for airborne troops (one of a variety developed). Made of “plastic plywood”, it was almost a 1,000lbs lighter than the standard 2,200lb jeep. You might also know the jeep as the MB-L. This article, of which the Gypsy Rose Lee was a part, was published in the December 1947 issue of Willys Overland Unity Magazine.
The 41st Annual Military Vehicle Preservation Association International Convention will be August 11-13, 2016 in Pleasanton, CA, USA at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. See 200 vehicles including a “75th Anniversary of the Jeep” line up. Host hotel, onsite camping, living history, dinners, offsite excursions, vendors, seminars. Even “Troop Train” rides! Open to the public, some activities for MVPA members only. See all info on www.MVPA.org.
I imagine the only thing that would have made this better for soldiers is if women had been serving the ice cream!
