This July 18, 1945, photo shows Charles Sorenson with T. L. Soong, brother of the Chinese prime minister, talking after the unveiling of the CJ-2A at Cesor Farms in Detroit.
Sitting in the jeep are Sgt. William Sheehan (left) of Boston and Sgt. Woody Turner of Truman, Arkansas. They are heading to New Guinea.

Here’s a very rare Hamilton pedal jeep.
“This came from the same estate as the great bicycles that I have posted. The condition is very good with no rust or major dents. It is missing only the hood ornament and has a folding windshield. It is all original paint and lettering. This is a rare maker.”
I just purchased this 1947 brochure from eBay. It’s got a few good photos I hadn’t seen.
Commercially produced or home made? The gun ‘pops’ when the gun’s crank is turned.
“FANTASTIC PATINA! THIS JEEP & ARTILLERY GUN are 90% wooden except for metal steering wheel & metal gun “popper” (which WORKS)strip & masonite bottom.
25 1/2 in. long overall. Jeep is 10 1/2 in. x 3 1/2 in x 3 1/2 in.
ORIGINAL PAINT IS 70-80%. Gun “pops” when square crank is tnrned by the nail handle.
HAND-PAINTED NUMBERS, STAR, “USA” & GUN WHEELS. Steering wheel is a replacement as is part of the front seat back.”
