Buz unearthed these two jeep related photos in the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library and Museum online collection.

1) Mascot of 4026th Army Signal Photographic Battalion Sits in Jeep

A monkey named “Lady” who was the mascot of the 4026th Army Signal Photographic Battalion, sits in a jeep, somewhere in the Philppines. Donor: John Paxton.

2) Secretary Pace Talks with People in a Jeep

This photo was taken circa 1952. There isn’t a description.  It is one of the nicer Military Police Jeeps I’ve seen.  The door is particularly unusual.

The Adventures of Mr. Jeeponary

• CATEGORIES: Books, Features, Women & Jeeps This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Written by Carolyn London in 1957, The Adventures of Mr. Jeeponary: The Autobiography of a Jeep Truck is a missionary story for boys and girls. It appears someone released a new version in 2011. Used paper back versions from Alibris and Amazon range in the $10 and under range. The new version is in the $40 range on eBay.

Louis Marx 1953 Home Video

• CATEGORIES: Features, toys, videos This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Apparently, Toy King Louis Marx not only made toy jeeps, but also owned a jeep he used to cut his lawn. In this unusual home video being auctioned on eBay, it apparently shows him driving a Lefty CJ-2A with some kind of mower or cutter behind it.

“We are proud to offer:
“The Marx of History” a home birthday movie made for toymaker Louis Marx by his family in 1953.
This lot consists of :
One 16mm film on to 2 rolls
Run time: circa one hour
Type: black and white, silent
Recently found in the archives of Academy Award winning producer Jerry Fairbanks one 16mm home movie for the 1953 birthday of Toy King Louis Marx. This black and white silent work print of the Hollywood producer appears to be the only surviving copy of this 1953 film.
The film is in good condition with moderate signs of use.
By all appearance mostly filmed on the grounds of the Scarsdale Estate and Mansion, this film shows the luxurious life style enjoyed by the family of the at the time largest Toymaker in the World.
This film was put together by his family as a birthday gift to Louis Marx on the occasion of his 57 birthday in 1953.”

Roberto forwarded this link that appears to show the rebuilding of a wrecked M-151A2. My vietnamese is pretty weak (ok, non existent), so I have no idea what the thread’s text says.

Salem Jeep Club Plaque **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Advertising & Brochures, Artists/Drawings, Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE II: Sold, was on eBay.

UPDATE:  Two of the three facts I got from the internet were wrong (imagine that, lol), the date it started and the fact it was no longer around. Thanks to Greg for updating us! This plaque was listed on eBay.

Greg wrote, “My name is Greg Peters, President of the Salem Jeep Club. The Salem Jeep Club was started in 1964, and joined the Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association in 1965, and are still members to this day. Our club at this time has four member families. In our heyday when everyone was racing, we were in excess of thirty families. At this time, we are somewhat active in fighting land closures, and “anti-access” groups. The club has participated for many years in PNW activities. The placque should have a stamped number on it somewhere, thereby identifying the club member it was assigned to.

This placque was supposed to be returned to the Salem Jeep Club upon termination of membership. This is the property of the Salem Jeep Club, and should never under any circumstances be sold. just for information purposes. The T P shown on the teepee was a way of honoring our sponsor “Taggessell Pontiac” and Jeep in Salem, OR..
