Here’s an odd photo.
“Original Vintage Snapshot Photo Man on 1961 Jeep FC150 Pickup Truck Wreck in Forest dated 1968”
This is another Jayhawk Dump body brochure for the FC-150. There are several at $7.99.
I just ran across this article about the 1964 Jeep Derby on my computer. It’s pretty interesting. I have several other Jeep Derby articles in magazines that I still need to scan.
UPDATE: Was on eBay
This is cool. Was the branding added or did U-Haul really make these?
“VINTAGE U-HAUL PEDAL JEEP AND TRAILER.
PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION AND SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM TO SEE ALL THE PICS AS THEY ARE PART OF THE DESCRIPTION.
EMAIL WITH ZIP CODE FOR SHIPPING COST. IT WOULD HAVE TO BE SHIPPED IN TWO SEPERATE BOXES.
WE BELIEVE THE JEEP IS HAMILTON BY DESIGN FROM THE 1960’s BUT ARE NOT POSITIVE.
WE DO NOT KNOW IF THE JEEP IS ORIGINAL TO THE TRAILER. (SOMETHING HAD TO PULL IT?) THE COLOR IS CORRECT BUT WE DO NOT KNOW IF IT HAS BEEN REPAINTED.
THEY ARE BOTH METAL WITH HARD RUBBER TIRES.
THE JEEP IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION WITH A FEW MINOR SCRATCHES/PAINT LOSS.
THE TRAILER IS IN GOOD CONDITION. DOES HAVE SOME PAINT LOSS AND SOME SURFACE RUST – SEE PICS.
THE DIMENSIONS OF THE JEEP ARE ABOUT 42 LONG X 16 WIDE X 18 INCHES TALL TO THE TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL.
THE TWO FRONT TIRES ON THE JEEP ARE MARKED 8 X 1.75.
THE DIMENSIONS OF THE TRAILER ARE 36 INCHES LONG X 17 INCHES WIDE X 13 1/2 INCHES TALL. THE TIRES ARE MARKED 6 X 1.50.
THE BACK GATE SLIDES UP AND OUT. THERE IS SOME TOUCH UP PAINT ON THE BACK GATE AND WHERE IT SLIDES IN.”
I don’t see the trailers too often.
“Up for auction is this Vintage Tonka Air Lines Jeep Trailers & Cargo. These are all in nice played with condition. They have a few scuffs and scratches but is over all in nice condition. These are all original except for the barrels have been added. This is a neat old toy a great addition to any collection! Please look at pictures closely! Check out my other auctions I do combine shipping!”
Craig found these two pics from a 1964 issue of Jeep News.
Guy provided additional information:
“The top picture with the caption underneath “MOUNTAINS IN COLORADO….” would have been taken on the east side of the Garden Of The Gods in Colorado Springs. The shot is looking west. Appears it could have been made from the present site of the Garden Of The Gods Visitor and Nature Center. See this Google Map link: http://goo.gl/maps/alpDj
The area to the west and north of the Garden Of The Gods is where the devastating Waldo Canyon wildfire swept into Colorado Springs last summer.
The Garden Of The Gods is a spectacular sight. Hiking is allowed, but no jeeping.
This is ready to assemble according to the seller.
