Surrey Friction Jeep on eBay

Here’s a neat friction Surrey Jeep.

“Vintage Pink Surrey Willies Overland Jeep CJ Wrangler Scale Metal Friction Model!
Please view the images for condition.

Here we have an awesome tin friction car modeled after some old Jeep, not sure of the exact model. Friction motor was locking up at first but appears fine now and seems to work alright. Looks like there may have been a top over the passenger compartment at one time as there are six of the typical tin holes for extra parts to fit into on the rear of the jeep and the windshield frame. Overall great condition, might need some cleaning in the tight areas and does show some minimal wear. No maker mark or country of origin stamp on this one. Totally excellent jeep!!”

This is unusual.

Paulo, Pat. Reg…measures 2 1/4 x 1 1/2 inches and is about 1/2 inch thick……pretty neat!”

Alternative Energy for German Cars during WWII

• CATEGORIES: Features, Magazine This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

After reading the Blitz Buggy article last night, I read through the remainder of the 1943 Liberty Magazine.  I found one of the articles very interesting, though it has nothing to do with jeeps.

Called “Motoring in Germany”, the article describes how gas rationing led to the conversion of automobiles into “gazogenes”, or vehicles powered by wood, gas, charcoal, and coke-burning.  The cars either towed trailers or had washing-machine sized attachments added to the back. Here’s the page below.

1947? “CM 120” Plastic Jeep on eBay

• CATEGORIES: Features, toys This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Here’s a rare plastic jeep (at least I’ve never seen one). It includes a rough box.

“For Auction is a HP, Vehicle, made by California Molders Inc. ,that I found at a local estate. It is still in the original box; but, the box is in poor condition. It is as follows:

The New Civilian Jeep”-5.5″-in working order-jeep windshield folds down-the tiny pin, of the tailgate hinge, is broken; but,the tailgate will stay closed-marked: “CM 120″.”

Even Jeepers Need Their Vitamin C . . .

Here’s an ad for Florida Grapejuice that includes a jeep.

“Here is a hard to find WWII era advertisement for the Florida Citrus Commission. This great Print Ad was removed from a vintage 1944 Magazine.

Page is about 9 3/4 inches by 13 inches with the actual ad perhaps a bit smaller. Condition of this 68+ year old Ad is excellent.”
