Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Here’s a rare plastic jeep (at least I’ve never seen one). It includes a rough box.

The New Civilian Jeep”-5.5″-in working order-jeep windshield folds down-the tiny pin, of the tailgate hinge, is broken; but,the tailgate will stay closed-marked: “CM 120″.”

Here’s an ad for Florida Grapejuice that includes a jeep.
“Here is a hard to find WWII era advertisement for the Florida Citrus Commission. This great Print Ad was removed from a vintage 1944 Magazine.
Page is about 9 3/4 inches by 13 inches with the actual ad perhaps a bit smaller. Condition of this 68+ year old Ad is excellent.”
As promised, I’ve scanned and posted a 1943. I have updated the earlier post with the scans.
I received the June 19, 1943, issue of Liberty Magazine today. The magazine was published in Toronto, Canada from 1924 – 1950. My issue includes an article written by Willys Overland’s President at the time Joseph W. Frazer and titled “The Amazing Blitz Buggy”.
Having read the article, I’m still surprised he claimed the official name of the vehicle was “General Purpose Car”. You can see that claim in the highlighted portion of the article. That explain why the term “General Purpose” has been used in numerous historical descriptions about the jeep.

JEEP IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE CONSIDERING ITS AGE. I TRIED TO PUT BATTERIES IN THE JEEP BUT LIGHTS AND HORN DID NOT WORK BUT CAN BE FIXED.”

(10/18/2012) This might make an interesting read.
“Original part color catalog , 8.5 x 11 , 20 pages , shows Jeep CJ5 on cover and on first page . Also shows Jeep Pickup with Backhoe , Jeep Ambulance , Jeep Fire Engine , Willys Bermuda , and Jeep Experimental Mechanical Mule . There are no Kaiser vehicles shown in this report . It also includes financial information for the year ending in December 1954 for Kaiser and Willys Motors , etc .”

Looking for USDA jeeps I found these two different plows used for fire fighting in the late 1940s/early 1950s.
The “V-shape plow” was featured in the August 1949 issue of Popular Mechanics:

Glenn spotted this replacement spare tire oak block isolation kit on eBay
