Mike forwarded these pictures of a Good Humor Ice Cream Truck in need of restoration.

Mike writes, “How about this for a unique Willys Jeep Vehicle: A Willys Jeep Good Humor Truck.  There were a few of these running around NJ back in the 1960’s. A few years ago, I was able to track one down in PA. The owner was in the process of restoring it. As of last year, he had run out of time and money.”

Yellowstone Howe Fire Truck

Until 1996, Yellowstone National Park had a 1960 Willys Truck with the Howe Fire Apparatus on duty.  The NPS still owns the truck, but it is now stored in its historic vehicles collection.  The vehicle collection is not open to the public, however the vehicles were filmed as part of a Discovery Channel segment on Hidden Yellowstone.

This might be a good article. I tried to find the article online, but didn’t have any luck.

“This is an original magazine article carefully removed from COLLECTIBLE AUTOMOBILE magazine. This is a high quality production with high quality paper, without advertising. If you are familiar with this magazine, then you know its quality is considered the best in the industry. This is a 3, 4 or 5 page article under the heading of Collectible Commercial Vehicles.

To determine the approximate length of the article, look at the above photo. If you see 2 sheets it is probably 3 pages long. If you see 3 sheets, it will be probably be 4 pages or maybe 5 pages, and so forth..”

Buz forwarded me an “Air Police” jeep  for sale at eBay.  Clearly there are some issues with this ‘restoration’.  One choice I thought was strange was the “Air Police” label itself; but, then I started doing some research and found some references to Air Police Jeeps.  If Ann weren’t sleeping so soundly beside me, I’d wake her up and ask her about Air Force Jeeps.  Instead, I’ll let her sleep.   You can see more jeeps and learn more about them through the links below:

1957 CJ-3B Greensboro, NC **SOLD**

Buz found this CJ-3B.   It is supposed to have only 4288 miles.

” One (1) 1957 Willis Jeep. No title restriction. 4,288 actual miles. This vehicle starts and runs. Engine Condition: runs. No known repairs needed.Vehicle was removed from service on 12/04/02. Transmission: manual. Transmission Condition: operable. No known repairs needed. Drivetrain: 4 (four) wheel drive, condition unknown. Exterior: yellow, no cracked glass,minor scratches. Interior: black. Normal damage to seats,dashboard, and floor. No air condition. This vehicle has been kept in a building out of the weather elements since it was removed from service. Vehicle also has a snowplow attached. SOLD “AS IS”.”
