Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Has an F-head, not an L-head. Listed as a CJ-2A, it looks more like an MB/GPW.

“1942 GPW JEEP — Project Jeep, motor cranked and runs – trans and clutch need work – no title, can be gotten as rebuilt vehicle through SCHD. Serial Number indicated 1942 on frt frame rail. Sounds like it is a mix of MB & GPW parts.

Seller seems upfront about the jeep’s lack pedigree.
“1943 ford gpw jeep,, not for the serious collector, non numbers matching engine, transmission, transfer case. The engine, transmission & transfer case work like they should, starts & runs fine, drives, stops, does everything it should but its not perfect, it is 72 years old.”
