Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a 1942 Jeep MB/GPW. I have been working on this restoration over the last couple of years. I am only selling it because I would like some extra money to put down on a house. If it doesn’t sell this week I will keep it.
No pics, but has a variety of updates.
Hey I’ve decided to sell my jeep its a 1944/45 GPW it has the title in my name(1946). Not really much rust, the floors are solid and seems pretty solid overall (has some bondo and lead in it but its not there to hide rust). It has a Chevy 350(ramhorn manifolds) mated to a T-90 with a dana 18 transfer case and borg warner overdrive, power steering and a mild shackle lift. Dana 25 front axle and Dana 44 rear both with 5:38’s. I just did the rear brakes and wheel cylinders. It did run and drive great with no problems overdrive works just fine. I pulled all of the wiring out because it was poorly done. If the coil is powered up and starter is powered up it’ll fire right up. I drove it all over town when I first got it really no problems. I have started a diamond plate alum. wrap job and its partial finished any exta parts will go with it I also have an extra 47 cj frame that goes with it as well. I don’t have to sell this jeep it just isn’t practical right now. I’d like to $3800 OBO”

It’s a project.
“i have a 1942 GPW Scriped Ford in the back. see pictures. comes with engine its out at the time. comes with the transfercase and drive shafts as well not in the picture but will come with it. i have a T84 transmission as well that i will include. Its a great jeep to restore. I have the title for it as well. i have to many projects and i will not be able to restore this great jeep. what you see in the pictures is what you get.”

Has some incorrect parts, but runs and drives. Might be an easy restoration project.
“1942 Military Jeep for sale. Naturally, I have the full title. It runs great and is driven weekly. Most major systems have been rebuilt including brakes, steering, frame, etc. It has the “F” Ford symbols throughout the entire vehicle.
Would be a great project for someone who wants to finish out the body for a full restoration. I have a full history of this partial restoration.”

(03/17/2015) David spotted this unique, cool GPW Ford truck jeep. It even has a tilt bed.
“42 Ford tilt bed truck – 302 Mustang power – C4 automatic – 9″ rear end. Disc brakes on front, mag wheels, 2 fuel tanks, cloth interior. Currently on a Historical Vehicle license. Great driver. Formerly a magazine car, with copies to go with it.”
