UPDATE: Craig pointed out that it’s possible the MB frame on this the correct frame. Ford used the same frame supplier, Midland Steel, before they contracted with Murray Steel for the GPW frames. (http://olive-drab.com/od_mvg_www_jeeps_mbgpw.php)

“For sale is a World War II, 1942 Script Ford Jeep, GPW, restoration project. Early 1942 Ford “Script Ford”. Might trade for 1965 to 1968 Mustang Fastback or Convertible in similar condition.
Body is Ford, Chassis is Willys. Titled on the dash VIN plate as Ford, GPW. Clear Ok. title.
Flathead engine is not correct, possibly late 40`s but I do have a Willys MB Block, WW2, (was running engine) that goes with the Jeep. Distributor boss is chipped on the block that is in the Jeep now, also some welding on the side of the block. Kaiser Supersonic head. ( adds 5 horsepower to engine ),I would use parts off the block that`s in it and put the MB engine in the Jeep. see picture. Correct Ford Transmission and Transfer Case. 1 seat is “F” , the other seat is WW2 Willys.”

It’s a project.

“Here is a 42 ford gpw, this jeep has had alot of work done to it so far and more to follow, I have repaired the body to make it a decent reenactor jeep, the frame is very soild as well, it has all original running gear minus the engine which is a cj2a,I do however have a ford block that will need a complete rebuild to throw in with the jeep, I have, front seats, two f marked fenders, f marked hood, f marked grill,and a few windshields.I am selling the jeep as a project for 3500$ as I continue to work on the jeep and fix parts the price will go up. I have mostly everything for the jeep minus small parts but this is a great start.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7500.

“Here is a running jeep. I have all the parts for it, I believe it was restored in 70’s and I’ve had it since since 1997. I had the transfer case and hubs rebuilt then. It has been on my 18 acre ranch and use only occasionally, but hardly ever the past 3 years. I’ve got an electric fuel pump but have the original. Needs a muffler, fuel pump and the generator rebuilt as well as the original gas tank. I do have the original but it’s all rusted out. It does have newer tires. It’s got some rust on the drivers side and about 6 coats of paint. I’ve been told it’s worth between 5 and 10K so I thought I’d start in the middle. I would like to take offers on it.”

“selling this for a relative so please ask as many questions as you like I am selling as is and welcome anyone to come see and drive in person, We have a 1942 Jeep vin GPW 152XXX it has the correct 4 cylinder motor but not a numbers match, has an aftermarket windshield and new glass, new tires, new best top, comes with lots of extra parts like transmission and transfer case, hi lift jack, the jeep runs and drives great, some body work that is showing its age, some rust has been repaired and patched on floors , but everything is solid, would like to ship via dependable auto shippers , you can call for a shipping quote, buy now or make an offer , nice jeep ready to enjoy, with over a thousand views and not an offer yet it appears I have talked this jeep down to the point nobody wants it, I just want to say it is a tight, great running little jeep with minimal rust repair.
