1942 GPW Arnold, MO **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2950

“Positives:
GPW
#’s match on body tag and frame
Engine runs and tranny shifts as does transfer case. Steers and breaks.
There are tons of original F mark parts!
Early type air cleaner. Marked radiator and grill. F mark bolts all over the place.
Star and numbers still visible on the hood.

Negatives:
Body has heavy rusting.
Rear section is cut out.

Other info:
This jeep goes with all you see in my photobucket album.
2 complete bodies cut in 1/2.
One is 1943 the other is a script body 1942 so you can build this jeep anyway you want.
There are probably other small parts not pictured that will also be included.”

UPDATE: Was listed at $4300. **SOLD**

It runs and drives. The front bumper’s been altered.”Selling a 1943 Ford GPW similar to a Willy’s but built by Ford. Been sitting on a ranch for the last 40 years. In 2008 all fluids were changes and brakes done. Maybe a 1 mile has been put on it since then. Does run all gears work. Good oil pressure. There are a few rust holes but what jeep doesn’t have them after 70 years. Does have windshield gun rack, fire extinguisher holder, and backseat. I believe it does have the original motor and drivetrain.

Not much original GPW here (maybe only the body).

“As the pictures show, this is a very rough car. I bought it as a piece of history that I planned on playing with off road. It drove when I parked it because the brakes didn’t work. The 4 wheel drive worked fine. It is loud and smoked badly. I have many extra parts for it including an aluminum gas tank and headlight replacements that convert the system to the modern lights while preserving the look, also brake parts. This year was made solely for the military. I have a signed title that hasn’t been transferred by the last 2 owners. If you’re handy, I think, you can get it off road ready. If your rich you could possibly restore it (ha ha). Otherwise, it would be a good parts car.I have a person wanting it Sunday so it will not be available unless he doesn’t show. Email me or call 918 617-5791. I’m in poor cell phone reception area but will return your calls”

The transfercase shifters are oddly bent.

“This jeep can be a restoration project or just a daily fun driver. The jeep is mechanically sound, but does have the old vehicle issues. I have some extras, like the manual and some origanal type tail lights. The motor is a flat head four and runs great. There has been a Saginaw front end conversion, but it is still drum brakes and no power steering. It does have lockouts, in four wheel low, this thing will climb a wall. This is a very fun and unique vehicle, because of that I am open to offers.”

Sounds like a mix of military parts. Looks solid.

“Rare Army jeep with Willys frame and Ford GPW body. Just had the entire brake system redone. Runs and drives well. A great WWII military Jeep. Has a tow bar that can be easily removed and a 12 volt system.”
