Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The jeep runs, but needs some work. It’s been used in movies.

“Jeep, 1943 Ford. Has tow bar, towing lights, winch, top (bad fabric). Has a V6 (Buick) installed. New battery, radiator (rebuilt) and carb (rebuilt). Engine runs, but has leak in block. Mag wheels and big tires. Extra parts included. Titled and licensed.”

The body appears cut at the driver’s side.
“Up for sale is a genuine World War II project jeep – not running, but it wouldnt take much to get it there. It consists of serial numbers matching body and frame, engine and tran/tcase combo with parking brake, leaf springs, axles and wheels/tires. I have other accessories for sale as well, but this is your foundation to get started restoring one of the simplest vehicles ever made, and one of the best.”

“I am selling a 1942 Ford GPW Military Jeep. I purchased this Jeep to restore but have
hurt my back and now need to sell it. GPW’s are getting harder to find now.
This particular one is still in running condition and the engine appears to be complete.
All the gauges and VIN tags are there. The body is rough but I believe its repairable.
A GPW of course comes with a solid tailgate but this Jeep has no tailgate.
I apologize for the lack of pictures. We just had 8 inches of snow and I’ve been in
bed for a week with a bad back. I will add pictures in a few days if I see some
interest in this Jeep. Feel free to email with questions. I’ve applied for a title
in my name but it hasn’t come yet. I bought this Jeep with a good Title so eventually
the Title will be available.”
This GPW includes a flatbed trailer for towing it.
