1943 GPW Ogden, UT **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.

This is a nice looking build.

“This Jeep is a piece of World War II History. It was produced in 1943 by Ford for the war and is technically a Ford GPW. It has all original metal and was a frame off restoration. It has a spring over lift by advanced adaptors with a Chey Saginaw 3 link steering conversion also from advanced adaptors. It has a Chevy 4 bolt 350 motor with a comp cam and Turbo 350 automatic transmission with a T18 Transfer Case. Custom aluminum radiator from Ron Davis with dual electric fans. It has fender well headers and new brake lines. It needs some final touches like a speedometer and gas gauge.”

1942 GPW Oakland, CA $6,000

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $6000.

(01/31/2013) Numbers matching according to the seller, but still plenty of work left.

“1942 Ford GPW war jeep. This is a matching numbers vehicle and therefore considered the best choice for an accurate, period restoration. Matching number Ford GPWs are almost impossible to find, due to the fact that the motor pools would change-out engines as needed and not rebuild and replace the same one.
Also, this is an excellent restoration choice due to the condition. The jeep has not been modified at all, with the exception of the addition of a roll bar, and retains all of the correct parts. Jeeps of this era have usually been modified to an extreme. After the war, bought surplus, they were used on ranches and farms, for hunting and survey work–and in recent decades, extreme off road use. Each brought its own modification.
This rare bird has a body–the tub– in rare un rotted/smashed/chopped up condition. This adds a great deal of value for the final restoration product.
It has not been run in a couple of decades, but was driven until it was parked. The engine turns over easily, without a wrench needed.
What matching numbers means: The frame # and the engine # match. There are no numbers on the bodies of this type, other than the data plate, which unfortunately is gone.
The tires are suitable for rolling around, but it will need a trailer for transport.
This GPW is the one all the serious restorers are looking for. As complete restorations go, it will be easier than most, due to the condition and completeness.
Asking 10K. The price may go down in several months, but for now that’s it, so don’t bother with offers unless you want to go on the waiting list.
Not interested in trades, I need the cash. The truck is near east Oakland, California, across the bay from San Francisco. Please reply via this ad. Can be shown during the week as well as weekends. Please be a nice person, i.e. don’t waste my time if you don’t have the cash.
See the pictures here on the link below for Photobucket.
Have a great day.

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB), Unusual • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4200.

Besides missing the rear of the jeep, it doesn’t have ww2 axles. So, I would suggest looking this over carefully.

“1944 GPW military flat fender Jeep – 5 new all directional tires (military stock) – runs perfect – 12 volt conversion – clean title and current registration –

PS: This is cash and carry ONLY – don’t bother me with the BS stories of being away, or being on an off-shore rig, or having your “agent” be in touch – I will not reply and simply forward your email to the scam and phishing folks at craigslist and local law enforcement.”

2013 Military Vehicle Show at Falcon Field

• CATEGORIES: Event, Features, GPW (Ford MB), M-38, MB This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Major Joe forwarded some pics from the 2013 Military Vehicle show at Falcon Field in Mesa, AZ. There were quite a few jeeps at the event.  Thanks for sharing!

He wrote, “I attended the annual Military Vehicle show at Falcon Field here in Mesa Saturday (had to find another way to get my Willy’s/Flat fender fix since your site was down!). Anyway, I thought I’d share the pics with you (attached). It’s a great event, and included military motorcycles, dozens of non-jeep vehicles, a half track, helicopter, and many aircraft (always on display since this is the home of the AZ chapter of the Commemorative Air Force).”
