“1942 original Jeep Willys was in the second war first prototype for the Air Force. The engine was rebuilding.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500.
This has some old school updates. Some, like the tail lights, doors, and fender flares, are similar to some of the Fresno jeep mods.
“I have a 1943 Ford GPW for sale. It has the original gpw chassis and tub but the grill and hood are from a cj3a. The seats are from a Chevrolet car and sit on custom fabricated frames. The gas tank has been moved to the back to sit under the tub. It comes with a Chevy 152 engine which has 90hp and 152 lb ft of torque. Nice little 4 cyclinder engine, starts up first crank and runs smooth. The transmission is a T90 and needs to be rebuilt. Right now the third gear synchro is broken and second gear grinds. It come with a really nice roll cage, set of doors that lock, and a rear seat. The price is $6500 OBO. I paid $7500 for it, and was hoping to throw a new tranny in her and have some fun. But I’ve been busy and just don’t have time to work on it.”
Mark spotted this GPW with an updated engine (chevy??).

“945 Ford GPW WWII Jeep unrestored in very good shape. Frame and body in good condition. Starts and runs great. This jeep can be driven as is or would be a good restoration project. I just drove it around town and to Home Depot for fun. The jeep spent most of it’s life in California before I had it shipped to Indiana. Recent carburetor rebuild, tune-up, new locking front hubs, radiator flush, oil change and misc. maintenance done. Prior owner swapped out the original 4 cylinder engine with one with more HP. Jeep has a top speed of 55mph vs 40-45mph. Clean Indiana title.”
The chassis is not included.

“May 7 1943 ford gpw. Chasis and data plates match. Sitting on a cj2a chasis(not included). F script seats, front and rear axles are stored inside with seats, and fenders. Steering column is f script. Has a home made fuel tank same shape as original just square on the edges. No title, engine or transmission. Hood has original surplus paint numbers under hood. Needs new floors and would make a great restoration project.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
This might be worth a look.
“1942 Ford/Willys Jeep. Tub is a ford script. Not sure if the top was homemade or factory. Has a split front windsheild. Parts only, no motor. parts shown in picture come with it. No title, bill of sale only. Pickup only.”
This is part of an estate sale. It is listed as a 1946, but it looks to be a GPW based on the tool box lids and front crossmember.

“WWII 1943 Ford GPW, Serial # 108332. Comes with a CJ2A engine (condition unknown, not pictured)), Ford GPW transmission and transfer case (not pictured), 3 combat rims. Lots of F parts. This is a restoration project. A square hole was cut out of the hood, I have two sheet metal pieces to weld in….other than that, the hood is really nice. Ford GWP’s and WWII Jeeps in general are becoming harder to find $5500 or OBO”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(10/31/2021) This is in rough shape.

“1942 ford GPW. WWII era jeep built by ford for the war effort on the bantam/willy’s design. ( not a bronco obviously) The dash tags are sadly missing. This project needs a new home, original transmission, transfercase, axles and drive lines and rims. The tub and fenders are original, the floor was replaced as well as the seats. (Not original) There was a Chevy 283 put into it that changed the original steering and motor mounts. The firewall was notched back to make room for the V8. Not selling with a motor. The engine bay is currently empty. I was hoping to get a four cylinder back into it. The V8 was too heavy for the suspension. The patina is from the original owner having it stripped of paint. So it is RUST in color. I had it running and driving, lights and brakes are good. The tires are cracking and the motor was pulled. Too many projects and not enough time.”
Not sure what the shipping would cost, but at least one of these drives.

“VERY COOL
ONE OF A KIND
WW II ROADSTER
This is a well designed “FUN CAR”
REAL STEEL 1940’S BODY
The engine is a 355 ci Chevy. It has a 327 block and 305 heads. Custom frame with ’32 Ford front spring set up and a model A rear spring with a 9″ Ford rear. The trans is a 200r4.
DRIVES LIKE A GO CART
HANDLES LIKE A RACE CAR
MORE FUN TO DRIVE THAN ANYTHING YOU HAVE TAKEN TO A SHOW OR CRUISE NIGHT
Is it perfect…no it is not, BUT is it fun to drive…
YOU bet it is
I would consider the car unfinished as the emergency brake has not been hooked up”
