Here’s a GPW that comes with plenty of extras and a tall price tag. Lots of pics.

“Up for sale is a rare and authentic 1944 FORD WILLYS MB 44 with MATCHING TRAILER. This clean and complete example was owned by a serious WWII buff and recovered from dry storage after his death . It has undergone a mechanical restoration by a vintage car specialist and is fully operational and roadworthy. This jeep is unique in that many authentic accessories are included with it, such as radios, antennas, and various fluid canisters. The matching trailer was packed with spare parts and period military items that are all included. This collector jeep is truly one of a kind and will ready for any collection, museum or parade run! Examples in this condition are non-existent!

Please e-mail or call Sam (626/590-4177) with questions or a time to view/drive the vehicle. I am very motivated and need to get this car on it’s way due to space constraints. NO REASONABLE CASH OFFERS WILL BE REFUSED! Thanks for looking.”

1942? GPW? Reno, NV **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: GPW (Ford MB) This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was No Price

“This is a 1942 Ford military jeep with a Willys body. It has the original 4-cylinder flat head engine which is all original and is flawlessly maintained. It has front hubs, special wheels, high range and low range 4WD, windshield folds down and it DOES NOT LEAK OIL. It is tuned to perfection and runs like a kitten. Everything works including the hi and lo-range transfer case. The body is……well, it is 69 years old. No, it does not look like a new Jeep. It has been converted to a 12-volt electrical system for easy starting. Otherwise, it is a 1942 right down to its OD green steering wheel. The seats are a true picture of ugliness and I like it that way. This is in all ways, a true diamond in the rough. Mileage? Surely you jest. I haven’t a clue. Whatever it says – it can’t be true. When you hear it start, hear it idle and then crawl up a hill with all the throat that a 4-cylinder can muster, you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven”

1942 GPW Sedro Woolley, WA **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3800.

This has a variety of updates.

“1942 Ford GPW almost identical to a Willys CJ2A.
~Engine is a Ford 289 with a 2 barrel carb.
~T90 transmission that I rebuilt within the last 500 miles
~Dana 18 transfer case
~Original front and rear axles but I have a Dana 44 with a locker, full floating hubs and 11 inch brakes for the rear and another front axle with 11 inch brakes.
~Currently has an all aluminum hard top that was made by a company called Metro.
~Has a back seat with shoulder belts attached to the roll bar for the little ones and lap belts in the front.
~The winch will most likely go with the Jeep it is a Warn 7000lb.
~The rear bumper has a tire carrier, two gas can carriers and brackets that hold a high lift jack. (gas cans and jack are not included).
~Has an aftermarket heater mounted under the drivers seat that provides more than enough heat even on cold days.
~Has a tow bar and wiring (I towed it behind my RV twice).
~Suspension consists of stock Wrangler Leaf springs over the axles on custom hangers. Ride is very soft and very flexible. Drives ok around town but I don’t take it on the freeway.
~Has power steering using parts from a Jeep Cherokee
~Stainless steel gas tank under the passenger seat.
It took me years to put this Jeep together. I have only driven it once in the past year. It is not perfect but it is a very functional off road vehicle. I have had it up to Walker Valley ORV Park twice. Both times it handled all of the trails I was on with ease. The winch works great for towing Samurais back onto there wheels. This has not been abused off road though pretty much just idled around. This is probably not the best daily driver but would make an excellent hunting rig. I am willing to deliver with my car trailer within a reasonable distance. If you are interested come take a look and make me a fair offer.”

Mike has added a few things to sweeten the deal: Two original “F” stamped seats, WW II jerry can holder, spare tire, canvas top.  Mike would prefer to sell to a buyer who can inspect the jeep before purchase.
