“I’ll start this description with that this Jeep is a project and will require a rebuild / restoration to make this vehicle street worthy.

* CJ2A motor that runs pretty well with good oil pressure.
* T84 transmission that does work, But doesn’t go into first gear every time you try. Definitely has wear.
* Shifts in and out of 4 wheel drive fine.
The body is rough, no doubt about it. There is lots of body filler all over. The pictures tell all.
The frame is broken to the rear of the rear spring shackles on both sides, shown in the photos. Can be repaired.

“1943 gpw ford built WWII Jeep (gpw, not an MB). It’s a daily runner for me.
Engine was replaced with a straight 6 1961 ford falcon motor.
Has normal rust, some hat channels have rust. Front forks are bent. Floor is solid, has 2nd gas tank in rear floor.
Comes with: 2 original era gas tanks, one large mouth. Seat frames are original, tow bar with older electrical plugs. WWII shovel, axe,2 helmets, mk1 knife and ammo box, 1950’s military suit case, many manuals, has doors, and safari top, comes with roll cage and extra set of sand tires. Has locking hubs. “1943 Ford GPW #148149. This is a good project jeep with a clear Utah title in my name. It has F script bolts on several brackets and is also stamped on the frame cross-members. The fenders are also F script. The jeep is in need of total restoration. The tub is rough and will require bodywork likely including a replacement floor and rear panel. The tub was sandblasted and primer-painted by the guy I bought it from so the rusted places are obvious. The frame is straight but will require new front frame rails. The Jeep has a unstamped CJ L134 engine and a T90. The condition of engine and transmission are unknown.”

Mostly original
Many F-stamped bolts
Ford script body
F-stamped transmission transfer case and head with a civilian block.
Runs, drives, and stops
Springs sag, wiring not good, body not perfect.
Bought from the Dragon Man with the intention of rebuilding it.
I fixed the tranny – got it running and started driving it.
However, my neighbor, who is a big time antique hoarder, urges me to stop working on it. “First rule when obtaining a collectable antique is you don’t touch, don’t paint it, nothing. It will ruin it. Even if somebody did something to it incorrectly before you.”
So I am doing my duty to my country by offering this up to any so called collector.

I am open to good offers! Otherwise, I can go back to the only part of the house I can somewhat think of as mine… where my hammer, saw, and torch are ready to get back to work and I’ll have a clear conscious that at least I tried to do the right thing.”
