Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Cool Air Police jeep. What an interesting hardtop, too.
“1942 Ford GPW(Military Jeep) Ready for restoration. Very little rust. Its been in a barn most of its life. All parts original except headlights. Engine turns and should fire up. Ford script is visible on most parts. Has a large PTO driven winch. 16″ rims. Willing to trade for small tractor with loader, atv or utv. We have a title.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
Has some mods.
“VIN stamped & plated by CHP. Registration is current. Clean title. Jeep was driven to its current location and has been non op’d and not driven for the past years. It has been garage kept and is clean.
A new fuel tank was purchased and installed in 2013 due along with a new battery. The jeep runs and is drivable but 2 tires no longer hold air. The jeep needs a set of new tires. It’s been primered and is ready for paint.
I no longer have the canvas top pieces.
Restoration was started years ago and left un finished. The engine has been disassembled, sand blasted and reassembled. It is very clean under the hood. THIS JEEP IS WAITING AND READY TO BE RESTORED TO IT’S FORMER GLORY.”
Has a fiberglass tub.
“A WWII Jeep with a light weight fiberglass tub. Runs well with a new fuel tank, fuel pump, rebuilt carb, brakes are new including wheel cylinders and master cylinder, electric winch, new exhaust system and new tires. Leave a phone number if interested.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was sold for $6200 at an auction. Now listed for $12,000. Seller claims wife won’t let him keep it anymore (as if the seller had owned it a while), so he must sell it.

“1943 Ford GPW. Bought last summer to help a friend out. All new brakes, master and wheel cylinders, shoes. Rebuilt starter. Runs a drives great. Minimal to no rust. Body is very solid. Remanufactured flathead at some time in the past. Converted to alternator, new battery. T90 with dana 18. Stock D25 axles. Full floater rear axle. I have an original airfilter, driveshaft parking brake which needs installation, foot start starter.
Might consider partial trade for YJ, TJ, stock Samurai, 2 door Rav4, 2 door Mitsubishi Montero. Must be close to stock. No rust buckets or hack jobs. Looking to tow behind motorhome
