Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This GPW was purchased in a fundraiser auction in Creston, MT in 2006. It was a mismatched pile of rusty parts, winning bid; $400. When my Dad saw that the delivery date of this GPW was Monday, May 4th 1942 and his delivery date (birthday) was May, 25th 1942, he had to have it. After some repairs and a quick camouflage paint job, the Jeep was back on the road for the first time since 1976. He drove it in parades and be-bopped around town, using it to raise awareness of MIA/POWs around the world.

It no longer has the rear full-floaters (among other things).
