1949 Jeepster Bakersfield, CA **SOLD**

How about this wild Jeepster.

“1949 Willys Jeepster. This is a one off one of a kind kustom  Starting with the body mods the top has been chopped 3.5 inches, the interior and exterior sides has been smoothed. The doors have had the wind wings removed and kustom finished. The back of the front fenders have been shortened and kustom running boards have been molded to the body. The rear fenders are 1935 chevy coupe  that have been cut and formed to the body. A drag boat filler cap and an aluminum gas tank.

The front has a mustang II rack and pinion with disc brakes. All new brake lines and new stainless power booster. The ride is on Air Ride Tech suspension the front riding on shock waves. The controls are located in the glove box on the drivers side. I Didit steering coloum with a banjo steering wheel. The radiator is a new 3 core performance. the car never runs hot. The inner fenders are all kustom built as well as the firewall. All is finished, flaked, and scalloped. The motor is a chevy 350 roller rocker motor, the block is gold flaked  and all else is new from speedway and chrome. The transmission is a 700R4 fluid locker newly rebuilt.

The shifter is a lokar with a German skull airbrushed for the knob. The rear end is an 8 inch ford rear end. The dash, floors, and center console were all kustom built and all new. The convertible top is all new. The upholstery is all new as well as the carpet. The wheels are steelies flaked with bullet center caps and lugs. The exhaust is all new from the front to the rear with cherry bomb muff’s and fish tail tips. The tires are coker wide whites and are new 300 miles. The bumpers have been worked and triple plated. The paint is house of color gold flake #017 and clear coated with valspar ac4400. The clear has been cut and polished to a mirror shine. The scallops are house of color white pearl and all was striped with hok black striping. “1948 Willys Jeepster Convertible. It has the L-134 engine (flathead) and has the flat front end. It also has side steps, deluxe steering wheel (full circle chrome ring) and the T badge up front. It was built in the combined plane around the middle of 1948, along side of the 48 wagons. The title shows 1949. That means it sold it 1949, but was manufactured in 1948. It was a gift from my grandfather and has been sitting in storage for almost 30 years. There are no missing parts and is in good shape on the outside and on the interior. It needs to be in the hands of someone who is interested in doing the mechanical work to get it running again.”

This isn’t perfect, but is pretty nice.

This 1951 Willys Jeepster is a 4-cylinder, manual transmission vehicle with 47570 miles showing (mileage is not guaranteed).

The Jeepster has an excellent top, good wide whitewall tires, and a solid body showing an older repaint. Hubcaps are original with trim rings. The upholstery is useable with some cracks/tears as shown in the photographs. Engine is inline, F-head 4 cylinder; 134.2 cu.in. The engine runs fine, but shows blue smoking. The Jeepster was offered from 1948 through 1951 by the Willys-Overland Company.

The vehicle may be viewed at the Northeast Classic Car Museum, 24 Rexford Street, Norwich, NY 13815 at any time during regular business hours or by special appointment. The Museum is open 7 days per week from 9am-5pm (closed Thanksgiving Day). To view the vehicle at another time, please email info@classiccarmuseum.org or call 607-334-2886 to make an appointment. “Classic 1948 Willies Jeepster, Rag top convertable with white wall tires. 100 original all parts complete. The car was stored for 30 years and needs some TLC under the hood but is a great project car. the jeepster was prepared for a paint job prior to being stores so it needs a new paint job. Fixed up these Jeepsters sell for $15-$20k.I want to keep it but my dad wants it sold. Come take a look for the pictures do not do it justice. ”
