“1970 Hurst Jeepster #1
This could be the rarest production Jeep in the world
It is not known exactly how many of these were built. Some say 100 but I think more have come out of the woodwork.
From research done, there’s no solid record of the Hurst build numbers. There is a registry and this one is the earliest number out there. This may be the one pictured in the showroom photo. I have only seen 2 Hurst Jeepsters with the blue stripe that runs side to side in front of the red stripe. Only the really early ones.
Has the luggage rack
Has the rare Hurst badges (not aftermarket). I tried to have a company rechrome all the original emblems, but they were too pitted. The hurst badges are not pot metal, so they chromed up real nice.
The hood scoop had been stolen years before I got this vehicle. The one on there currently is a reproduction and made to look old. The tach was stollen with the scoop, but the Dixco hood tach is what is put in there now.
The wheels and tires are brand new. Have about 5 miles on the tires. I drove it to a car show and back.

1969 Jeepster Commando Stoughton, WI $3500

Someone created this custom Commando out of what was probably a rusted body.

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/458282124826200/

“V6 225 3 speed T14 manual transmission. It was redone to look nice with rustoleum tractor red paint and filler. It has wood floor and homemade truck bed. I redid brakes and have it running well. Plow pump was removed. Unique and road worthy, but not highway worthy yet. Not many out there and would be great off-road as 4wd works.”

Jeepster Door Mechanical Parts

• CATEGORIES: Features, Jeepster This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: In his search for Jeepster door mechanicals, George learned that the parts used in a 1952 Dodge Truck were nearly identical to the Jeepster, just shorter. However, since he was able to eventually source a set of Jeepster doors, he didn’t try out this possibility. So, I thought in case someone else needed these parts that I’d let folks know that NOS parts are available for the Dodge Truck.

“A restorer messaged with a picture of one mech from the Jeepster and one from a 1952 Dodge truck this afternoon. They were identical except for the length of the connector between inside/outside handles. They can be found for $90 nos.”

=======================

Original Post: George is nearly done with a 1949 Jeepster restoration, but needs to locate the mechanical parts for both doors. If you think you have the parts he needs, contact him at gjasek @ yahoo.com (remove spaces around the @).

And, yes, he has looked for the parts at the Jeepsterman, WO Jeepster club, and other places on the web, but with no luck so far.

“2WD Very rare. They only made these Jeepsters from 1948 to 1950. This Jeepster has the very rare optinal 6cyl and 1949 was the first year you could get it. 3 speed with push button overdrive. Has the rare optional radio, turn siginals, and mirrored spot light. This is a very solid Arizona Jeepster and has had only one paint job done back in the 1970’s. The paint still looks good for it’s old age. Has always been taken care of and always garaged. This Jeepster has been in the same family since the early 50’s. Overall in good shape for it’s old age and very solid. The Jeepster runs and drives. Needs new soft top put on and I have the new top. Clean title in hand.”

2 Jeepster Commandos Brooklyn, NY $6000

• CATEGORIES: Jeepster This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Steve shared these projects.  There’s definitely some rust, but I can’t tell how bad it is. My guess is that the seller doesn’t know a lot about them, as he labels one a ‘truck’.

“Pair of phenomenal 1967 Willys Jeep Projects. Perfect for the collector. One is a pick up truck, one is a Jeep Commando. Sold individually ($3,000) or as a pair ($6,000 for both). These go for $15,000 to $25,000 once restored. Pick up truck needs less restoration, covered Commando needs all. Not running. Take one or both cars. Pick up has title. Commando does not.”
