Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1949 Jeepster in need of restoration. I have most of the hard to find parts. It needs floorboards as these have rusted out, but new ones can be found on ebay and other places. It has some rust but I think it is a project worthy of the attention. I did not know the floor was rusted when I bought it, they had put metal signs over it and covered it with carpet. I have a flathead 6 and 3 speed tranny. The frame for the top is stored along with heater and other parts. I also have a flathead 4 with tranny in a 1948 station wagon if that was of more interest.”

This looks like a nice Jeepster Commando for the price.
“1971 Jeepster Commando 83k, Buick V6, 4 speed manual, 4wd, runs, drives, stops. Not perfect, but in really good shape, drives like a Jeep should. Larger than the old CJ’s so it’s definitely more stable. White hard top, Kayline (black) soft top, hell creek suspension, 31″ tires, with brand new spare not even mounted yet, Mickey Thompson wheels, front disc brakes, spare tire carrier – included but not mounted. Black hi-back seats in front with folding seat in rear. New Battery, Alternator, Voltage Regulator, transmission mount. Not exactly a rare thing but definitely uncommon. Currently tagged as an antique.”

“Willys Jeepster 1950. Just rebuilt engine, new radiator, new gas tank, runs great! New top. New wiring harness. Interior no cuts, gauges don’t work except speedo and trip. Lights, blinkers work. Needs paint! Tires plenty of tread but are older. Windshield wipers don’t work (cable needs replacing)”

“This 1969 Jeepster Commando has been restored to a high level of quality, with many performance enhancements. Low production (1450) in the last year that Kaiser made the Jeep. Features include 252 CID V6 with Edelbrock Performer intake and camshaft, New Holley 4 Barrel carb, Unilite distributor, Turbo 400 automatic transmission, Front Dana 30 open knuckle pow er lock,dual clutch posi with auto locking hubs, rear axle Dana 44 Detroit locker, 4 wheel disc brakes, New Springs, New Shocks, New Sway Bar, New Power Steering, New Fuel Tank, New Weather stripping, New Upholstery, New Carpet, New Glass. In addition I have added a Multi-zone alarm system, and a New Stereo CD Radio with Bluetooth. The Paint is new, as are the tires. The engine compartment is nicely detailed with chrome accents. In all a beautiful classic 60″s Jeep to bring to car shows or every use every day. ”
