About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“Up for auction is a 1948 Willy’s Jeepster. This vehicle has been 99% restored and is in great condition. This car has the original four-cylinder, Flat head, 62 horsepower, Go-Devil engine that has been removed and fully rebuilt with only 5500 miles on the rebuild. It has a three speed manual transmission and it comes with overdrive as well that just needs to be hooked up. Many extra parts are included with the car. The interior has been done with new upholstery and carpet, and the paint is fresh with only a few minor issues below the spare tire cover. The steering wheel was replaced by the previous owner but steering wheels are available for this car through Kaiser-Willys and other online Jeep websites. New turn signals and more that is too much to list. The body is straight, and all the trim is available and will be sent with your purchase – it just needs to be installed. Spare tire cover comes with the car and has been painted to match the body color. As seen in the pictures one weekend would completely finish this car. It’s a great around town car that runs smooth and starts right up. The convertible top is in great condition and the windows are all there. The car has been completely gone through and has had a recent tune-up and brakes, steering, clutch and axles worked on. This car was bought to finish restoring quickly but I don’t have the time to drive it much less finish the minor restoration to bring it to completion. It has been kept in a warehouse, not in the weather and is in good condition.”
This looks good, but apparently needs work of some kind.

(11/19/2012) This Jeepster has an unusual pattern or design on the door. Looks good otherwise.
“This is a great car, fun to drive and a real head turner. I purchased this last winter from a private seller in AZ who had been rebuilding it and he tried to keep it as original as possible. It was near finished and I added a few things to it. Here is a list.
New: top and side curtains, frame for top, gas tank and sending unit, exhaust pipe and muffler, fuel pump, turn signals, hub caps, seats covers, a new overdrive, chrome bumpers, headlight hoods, exhaust deflector, steering wheel with suicide knob, outside mirrors, dash nobs. The engine is a totally rebuilt 4 cyl. (lead-free gas) by a Jeep expert in Phoenix and it has a newer paint job with a few small road chips (see pictures) and almost all of the chrome is new and looks excellent. I had a slider built for the driver’s seat so it can be adjusted. It is a six volt system and has radial tires that are like new. It has always been garaged.”
“No rust Jeepster. You are considering bidding on a very nice (not perfect) example of an all-American, post-war classic; the Willys Overland Jeepster, from my mother’s hometown, Toledo, Ohio. This was the first, on-road Jeep available, post World War II. This car has the original, four-cylinder, flat head, 62 horsepower, Go-Devil engine. I purchased this vehicle in late Autumn of 2011, as a winter restoration project and it is now complete. I was able to acquire the vehicle at a very reasonable price, which prompted my purchase. The Jeepster was owned by the same family for the past thirty-seven years, however it wasn’t driven often. Consequently, when I acquired the Jeepster, many small (and, some big) things needed attention, simply due to lack of use. The body is very straight and solid. I recently had the fenders and aprons painted gloss black and the Michigan Yellow body color, repainted. All five tires are new. Once the car arrived, I handed the vehicle over to my mechanic and he performed the following work . . .(read the rest on eBay)”
Recently rebuilt Kaiser super sonic flathead 6 motor. New canvas top, original design. Black with red piping.
NADA classic car list: $18,500. Solid body, no rust. Just over 19,000 made from 1948-1950. Approx. 3,000 runnig.”
The buy-it-now price is only $8500. This needs a few things, but is a solid start for a nice restoration.
“his is a 1948 Willys Jeepster. It has overdrive. The Engine is original and runs great with no problems. Was rebuilt 10 years ago. The tranny shifts with no problems. I do not have the air filter, or radio. The car is currently painted Yellow/Black. It is an original Maroon car. The interior on the car is in great shape. No rips in the seats. The carpet is there but would need to be replaced. The dash cluster needs restoring. The speedometer needle is broken off and not currently hooked up. The fuel gauge isn’t working. This body and sheet metal on the car is solid with surface rust in a few areas. There is 1 rust through hole under the rear seat. All chrome is there but would need to be re chromed if a restoration is desired. This is a car that can be easily restored or just drive it the way it is. This is a very original car.”
