“1971 M151A2 19.000 mile ,mileage will change for this is a daily driver. Uncut and titled . New dark tint windshield glass, Full ROPS with netting . All of this is new , 5 tires,balanced. top ,side curtains and doors, A arm bushing front and rear, front shocks , front coil springs ,front brake shoes , front and rear wheel cylinders, brake hoses ,master cylinder rebuilt, seat bottoms, radiator hoses, three fan belts, voltage regulator , thermostat, NOS fuel pump , fuel sending unit, rear driveshaft, four u- joints, and rear differential, wiper blades ,wiper arm bushings, front marker light lens, new bulbs all around.
Engine and transmission mounts .Grill cover and hood blanket ,re built Holley carb Pioneer CD player with 4 radio shack book shelf speakers ,rear seat. Stewart Warner mechanical oil pressure and water temperature gauges New 30,000 BTU gasoline heater. Have both front floor pans made by Cameron Manufacturing. Has jack ,handle and lug wrench. Fan shroud included but not installed.”

This includes some interesting historical info about why no M-151s were built to be APUs. The question seems to be, was this a motorpool modification or someone’s backyard customization.

“Not much is known about the history of this little MUTT except that it was an original Ford built M151A1, produced in 1965.
On the back is a rather elaborate electrical generation set up, that includes replacement of the transmission with another generator unit. Power comes from what is believed to be a Continental flat head 4 cyl. The vehicle moves by an Autronic Unit transfer gear set-up that hangs off the front of the small “jeep”. A shaft coming off the front of the crank runs a chain that drives the “transfer case” that powers the front axle. Continue reading
