| INFORMATION FROM SELLER: |
| This is a 1953 military Jeep. This model was built for artillery/radio/ambulance.
These are pretty rare. Very cool Jeep this predates the beginning of the CJ-6 As it sits right now, it’s missing the motor and windshield frame. transmission transfer case are there framers solid from what i see $1500 obo or trade for other jeeps and offroad toys or something cool! This would make a great overlanding, or a military Jeep restoration project! Don’t have time to get to this Jeep. great for Yard art also! |

M-170, thought this looked familiar, was posted back in Sept, it was commented on by some that this might make a better CJ-6 then a M-170.
But its come down in price still listed as OBO.

M-170, lots going on, not any sort of expert here, I feel this one was posted prior. But it’s a Radio Rig they are pretty neat to come across.
Information from seller:
1954 Jeep M170 · Suv · Driven 18,500 miles Original rust free body. This has had a full mechanical rebuild, including the engine 134 hurricane just done. This is a very rare US Marine Corps Jeep, and they are hard to find with Marine tags. Most were ambulances. This was a radio jeep. New tires, new battery fuel system gone through and tank resealed . I have four or five big tubs of extra parts. I have multiple seat frames for it, including the rare passenger jump seat. It is located in Auburn, CA 95602 for $9000 I priced it to sell in the current market and firm.

I feel this is a M-170, so will list as such, with a very neat Hard Top. Not much detail and I typically don’t post from Sellers that have newer profiles, but the seller has a lot of items listed and marked Sold, so just do your homework. Follow the basics and check out seller, make sure they are real and able to sell the rig or better yet might be the actual owner.
Information from seller:

1952 Jeep CJ-6 – M-170 $4,250 Auburn, CA
Needs some stuff but you don’t see a ton of these, very hard to find the parts and pieces for these, but that’s the fun at times. I did not locate that funky mount on the back of the rig in any other photos easily, I looked at a bunch. These can be very specific parts at times.

Some additional information, I can’t make out the small red plate to the right of the larger ID plates, but by what the seller is posting it should be listed as a AN / MRC-87 rig on that tag.

Pretty neat looking, has a video of it driving around. Get in and go around the property anyway.
Information from seller:
Rare Military M170 ambulance Jeep. Only a few thousand of these were ever made, beginning in 1953 into the early 60s. This Jeep starts with just a bump from the key and absolutely purrs. Runs and drives really well. Needs brake work and TLC. Great restoration project, parader vehicle or farm/ranch/hunting truck. 5:38 gears are so low you can get out and walk next to it. 3 extra military tires. I can only post one video here, but I have others of how easily it starts, how smoothly it idles, and if it driving down the road in both low and high range.

This looks to me like a M170 with the drivers side with that long section and the passenger side.
M170 are 20” longer then the M38-A1.
Might be a good find here looks like in good shape.
12V Conversion, but from the other post from today you can still dig up the 24V Stuff if you want it.

“Read!!!! Currently not Running!!! Does not Run!!! This Jeep has been built into a great trail rig that would probably also drive well on the road. It has a later model front axle with disc brakes front and rear. Also it has power steering and sway bars that are also great for the street. It has a s10 4.3 engine. I’m currently not getting power at the switch. I’m not the best with electrical. I’m open to trades on dual sport motorcycles and dune buggies possibly a jet boat for the river. I’m going to apply for a title soon”
