About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Needs speedometer fixed, but otherwise looks like a solid M-38.
“1952 M38 Flat fender jeep for sale. No rust. No rotted floors or nonsense. Runs excellent. Has original data plates mounted on dash!3 speed flat head four cylinder. 4 w/d perfect!! Jeep does not have top. Headlights and tail lights do not work. Speedometer and odometer does not work. Unknown mileage.New leaf springs. New brakes. Tires. Carb. Gas tank. Brake lines. Wheel cylinders. Radiator. Must sell due to illness. Will not last. Serious inquiries only!
It’s a solid looking M-38 with very little rust. I know the seller just washed this just before taking these photos. I don’t understand letting water sit in the jockey box underneath the seat and a few other rust prone places shown in the photos?
“1951 M38 Army Jeep – Original Condition – Runs and Drives – RUST FREE!
Has Current Title
This has to be the best M38 I have ever owned. Body is rust free and very straight. I have done a few things to this M38 to get it back on the road but without messing with its original condition. The following have been done for drivability and safety. 1. New brake shoes and wheel cylinders. 2. New rubber and S-shaped metal brake lines. 4. NOS master cylinder 5. New fuel sending unit (correct M38 one). 6. Complete wash of vehicle to remove about 1/2” of dust and other stuff that had accumulated on the M38 over the years of being in storage.
“I have a 1952 Willys Overland M-38 project jeep for sale. This is a great example of the last flat fender military jeep. Completely rebuilt engine has less than 10 miles on it. The jeep is very restorable, and is in good shape for being 60+ years old. Has been converted to 12V, and wears a hood from a CJ2A. Body has some patches, and jeep has been painted red. Comes with a older hard top (not military). This is a project, but is all there, and I have almost $2k in the engine alone. If interested I can send pictures, or better yet, contact me to come see it. I do have at least 6 original wheels, 4 other tires and new tubes to go along with it. Roll bar is just resting in place. I will consider trades that take up less space. Possibly an ATV, Enduro motorcycle, enclosed trailer, try me..”
This looks to be a solid M-38 with a replacement body.

“Take a look at this completely rebuilt beautiful 1951 Willys M38 Army Jeep.
This jeep was rescued from a gentleman in North Jersey in 2013. He had begun to restore the jeep but got in over his head. I purchased it and it underwent a frame off rebuild.
I’ve owned over thirty flat fender jeeps and have restored approx. 25 of them and have sold them successfuly on e-Bay. This Jeep had an excellent 1951 M38 frame and drive train including a correct MC marked engine. The engine was professionally rebuilt by Sigafoos Rebuilders in Easton, PA. The tranny was rebuilt by me and the transfer case and axles have had new seals, bearings, and fluids as needed.
Everything has been gone through on this jeep and everthing has been sand blasted, cleaned, repainted, or replaced with new, NOS, or repro parts.
Chassis and Drive Train: new leaf springs front and rear, new shackles, new shocks, new axle bumpers, frame stripped/blasted and painted, new front bumper, new rear crossmember, new clutch and bearing, new seals and bearings on tranny(rebuilt) and transfer case which were drained and cleaned repainted, and all fluids and gaskets replaced, new e-brake pads, hardware, and cable, new engine/tranny mounts, new brakes including all shoes, lines and hoses, new master cylinder, four new wheel cylinders. Rebuilt steering box and drag link and original steering wheel, original rear bumperettes, original pintle hook. 4 new STA 7.00×16 NDCC tires and an authentic original Goodyear spare tire – all on 16″ original rims.
Engine: Completely professionally rebuilt. professionally rebuilt civilian WO Carter Carb, new civilian fuel pump, rebuilt manifolds and new gaskets, new 12 volt alternator, new period correct wiring(not military), new battery, new hoses, new fan belt, new 180 degree t-stat, new temp. gauge, new ammeter, new fuel gauge and sender, new fuel lines, new plugs and wires. Radiator professionally tanked/cleaned repaired and painted.
Body: Authentic Willys M38 body; original tub, fenders, grill, windshield including glass with new rubber seal, reproduction hood and tailgate, original front seat frames with repro rear seat frame, new fuel tank, original top bows, new brackets and hardware, new canvas top and seat covers (All canvas is Beachwood canvas), repro. shovel and axe, original correct dated gas can, rebuilt authentic drive blackout light and new grill blackout lights, rebuilt headlights and NOS tail-lights, new dashboard data plates, original body serial number tag.
Misc: Vehicle is wired for 12V civilian use, all new gauges, including speedometer, all lights, all new switches work properly (except brand new military style light switch is not connected to the new wiring- a new modern fused two pull switch is connected to new wiring.) . Water fording system was not installed. Jeep has proper vacuum windshield wipers installled and working.
Vehicle includes the pioneer tools(shovel and axe). Vehicle Does not have a title. Mileage is unknown, but regardless of odometer reading (approx. 0 miles) this Jeep is better than motor pool, almost like it just came off the assembly line.
The only thing left to do with this vehicle is have fun driving it and possibly outfit it with some Korean War Era paraphernalia.”

Between the grille and the body I think this is a M-38, but it doesn’t have the battery box lid. Maybe it’s a repro body.
